Popped in to Lovin' Cup for some sandwiches ... great food and great vibe. Chicken salad sandwiches were fresh ... had an oatmeal cookie to top it off. Service was friendly and fast, and we dined in a very comfortable/casual seating area where there was free wi-fi.

We had dinner with friends over the summer and ate in their large outdoor area. The food was very good all around but we found the beer not that great. Service is friendly, it's got a nice high energy atmosphere. So there's lots of pluses for this place, but for the four of us, the ales and beers were just ok.

Let me preface this by saying that we've been almost consistently below freezing since early December here in Northern Vermont so when ordering a coffee or tea, I would assume (yeah, right) that the staff would automatically serve the requested beverage HOT, not the iced version. The first time it happened, I was at the drive through on a cold morning and ordered "a large green tea" - what I received was a black ice tea. To their credit, it was large. Next time, in store, I ordered a large green tea at the store and saw the dreaded "ice tea" pop up at the register so I was able to correct it right there and then. Seriously, it shouldn't be this hard. The rest is par for the course for a DD, clean bathrooms and the usual selection. Although they seriously need to rework their egg/cheese on a croissant because it always comes out soggy & sad looking.

Fledermaus Teahouse

The Fledermaus Teahouse is a timber frame barn lovingly converted from a workshop into a place for people to come to relax and enjoy teas, coffees, and a wide variety of German, Austrian and locally-inspired confections and light savory fare. We are a seasonal teahouse, open May through October. We hope you enjoy the experience here at Fledermaus Teahouse in Vermont as much as we have our visits to the Scheunencafés of Europe.

The authenticity of the German cakes were a delight. The architecture of the barn and decor will leave you in awe. The hosts Renate and her husband are a delight. What a gem, we will be back!!Thank you so much for your kind words! We set out to provide a unique experience and we are thrilled to find that it resonates with our guests. Great place for lunch or breakfast. Small, overseeable menu, you order at the counter. Very personable. The owner bakes all fresh in the am and they are open until 2pm during the week. Closed on the weekends. Meat is always fresh, all made to order.

The girls stopped by this place for a quick drink first, then brought the family back for dinner. Great service, food was good. We had a large party of 18 with kids, and the service was good and quick! I had the daily Risotto special, which that day was Shrimp with squash and tomato. It was fantastic, but i got the last bowl of it.

Downtown Pizzeria & Pub

Found a good place for a local pint and pretty good Italian fare in Johnson. A limited but very nice menu had a number of things I liked, been there twice already, and I'm not even from Johnson! Their arugala and goat cheese salad is a steal at $7. Tonight I had three little meatball sliders on housemade garlic-knot rolls, they were tender, flavorful and a great match for the arugala salad. About 6 local beers on tap, none more than $6 a pint, which is better than Burlington prices. Both times I've been they've offered a daily special. Also offer a very good mussel in wine and lemon sauce which I had 2 weeks ago. I more than enjoyed both my recent visits; I think they will do very well.

The Family Table Restaurant

Reviewed By miltonman196 - Milton

Tried the Family Table recently and was disappointed. Some of the menu suggests fine dining. The decor does not suggest fine dining. Our vodka martini's at $11 were way overpriced. Burlington prices in the hinterlands of Jeffersonville. Check your competition at 158 Main. The fried calamari appetizer tossed with hot peppers and black olives, garlic, lemon, basil, white wine with a side of marinara at $10.95 was a disappointment. I like my calamari plain, just calamari. My wife had the Caesar salad at $9.95. It was decent. I had the shrimp scampi with lemons, capers, roasted tomato, garlic and artichokes tossed with angel hair pasta. It was ok but too sour for my taste.
Service was adequate.

The Landmark Tavern

Reviewed By Allen S - Hyde Park, Vermont, United States

This tavern used to be "the Longtrail", new owners, totally remodeled, new kitchen, new bar, nicely done. They now have an ice cream, walkup window. We had excellent burgers and fries, beer and wine selection is great. Pool tables are gone, but I don't miss the racket. They do games in the field out back, farmer's market out front. Good place to go for food fun and games. They brag on the "largest burger in Vt", and they are probably right. I'm not going to try to eat one, opting for the standard size.
