Jacksonville Inn Dining House

Located in the center of Jacksonville, a historic town in Southern Oregon that got its start as part of the gold rush back in the 1850s, stands the Jacksonville Inn. It’s an elegant bed and breakfast housed in a building built in 18961 complete with walls made of locally quarried sandstone (specks of gold are still visible in the mortar). The historic hotel rooms blend distinctive 19th century décor with the necessities of a connected digital age, including a variety of modern comforts and amenities. Whether or not you are staying in the unforgettable rooms, you will love dining in the superb restaurant with its distinctive menu and impressive wine list featuring over 2,000 wines. The restaurant is known for its attention to detail and personal service and has a passion for building connections with its customers. The Jacksonville Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has served three U.S. presidents and has provided lodging for a U. S. president and First Lady.

This afternoon we stopped by the Jacksonville Inn for a glass of wine while enjoying the beautiful southern Oregon weather. We had amazing service thanks to Mikah who was kind and friendly and just all around amazing! The wine was perfect, and we couldn’t ask for more!

Stopped in one morning just for a cup of coffee. I had a mocha supposedly made with the local Lillebelle Chocolate. If they used any chocolate I couldn’t taste it. My wife wasn’t impressed with her cuppa either nor did she feel the calories in the cinnamon twist was worth it.

They do serve a very reasonably priced breakfast that we saw others eating. Cute interior. Nice vibe. Not sure we’d return though.

They bent over backwards for us at the Point for a ladies lunch of 15 gals. Separate checks, even! We had two servers and plenty of attention. Lunch (mostly) all came out at the same time. Checks were easily handled. Food was very good, lots of containers went home too. Patio looked good, and our group will be back to sit outside next spring!
They do add an 18% gratuity for a group, which is perfectly reasonable.

These guys really had their entire game together. We arrived just after they opened, were shown to a table immediately and treated to personable service throughout the evening. The offerings were a wide assortment of international standards; none too small or insignificant to be plated with impeccable style. I enjoyed both a house cocktail and local wine. My server steered me toward the duck confit when I asked what might be their most interesting entre. I wasn't disappointed - the mix of flavors worked. Our table also enjoyed the salmon, NY strip and filet mignon. No complaints anywhere over anything. Too bad we didn't have room for dessert!

My husband and I had heard really good things about this cafe and were excited to go. After checking in, we elected to sit outside under a gorgeous tree. Our server was friendly but slow. We placed our order for their much-touted cheeseburger: medium-rare with the works, including lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles. When it finally came, it was the worst burger I can remember having. The meat was extremely well-done with no juiciness at all and that's pretty much all there was on the plate. Unbelievable. I would have gone inside and asked for our cheeseburgers to be redone but my husband said he didn't think such a request would be welcomed. I went to the table outside when he went inside to check us in; he said the folks inside were not friendly at all. We won't be going back -- and I don't recommend it. It was pretty pricey.

Pomodori Bistro & Wine Bar

Great local bistro that has been doing a great lunch and dinner business here in medford since 2008. We specialize in northern style cooking with our own northwest flair. Using local ingredients when we can. We have the largest local wine selection in the area. And also one of the first to have local really quality red and white wines on tap as well.

Nice maitre'D showed us to our table (no booths) & I ordered the wild pan fried brandied shrimp, which was good. The accompanying Risotto was also very good. My husband had Medallions of Beef (not very tender) and we share. d a good Tiramisu. The place was very chilly, however, and I didn't like the wooden chairs. The service was good.

Elements Tapas Bar

Reviewed By Sander S - Redding, CA

A group of us visited Elements while in Ashland for a play. We made reservations as we were a large party which they accommodated. We were seated promptly and water and menus were available immediately. The bar is nice and the restaurant is somewhat small and nicely done.
Drinks were good but the food was the star. A vegetarian paella was spicy and smoky and didn’t miss the meat at all. Grapes rolled in local blue cheese and crushed pistachios was quite unique. Crispy cauliflower with garlic aioli was great. A flat bread with mushrooms, humboldt fog and spinach was awesome. Our only non veg dish, mahi mahi was also great. The deserts sounded wonderful but we were too full.
Service was excellent. The food came out in waves with great spacing and timing.
Try Elements. You won’t be disappointed.
