I'm not generally a big fan, as an American, of looking for North American cuisine in foreign countries. But being a frequent visitor to Itu, this restaurant is just a five minute walk from my favorite hotel. The food is good, the atmosphere is lively, lots of TV's for futebol and MMA. When ordering foods, even if described as spicy, don't expect it to light you up, that is not what Brazil does. However, the hamburgers are more than generous. The chicken wings are ok, I would prefer if they were tossed in the Buffalo sauce, but the blue cheese dipping sauce is excellent. Fajitas are not spectacular. After all, this is a burger joint, so go for the amazing burgers! Beer is good with good choices, but cocktails are a bit watered down. Biggest issue I always have is that it seems a bit pricey for what you are getting.

This is a restaurant that you can either pay by weight or at a fixed price. It offers many options of homemade Brazilian food. It is great to try different entrees from the country side. I enjoyed having the salads and the hot buffet both. The service was excellent.

I saw good reviews of this place and it did not let us down. The most ordered plate is the parmegiana, but a friend of mine ordered the pepper steak which was also delicious and worth the wait. We arrived at 2 and the restaurant was packed and with a 25 min waiting line. Very organized to call guests and seat them at their tables.

the place is a bit far away so you take a little bit to get there... if you wanna go to itu ( brazilian historic town) and don't intend to spend lot of money like to have a lunch in the "alemao restaurant" the most famous one, than just go to rancho da picanha. The food is great and the place is nice. it is kind of a rustic place. but attencion: this place only work in the summer! it's all open. unless you wanna feel very cold and some lot of wind

Mantovani is not what you expect to find in a shopping mall. The decor and surroundings are great, the food is top notch but truly making the experience is the Waitstaff. Daniel was our waiter, and considering he was dealing with 13 people with only one relatively new Portuguese speaker, and he spoke no English, he was so patient, helped us through the menu, and everything was served hot and with excellent flavor.
The salad bar is what you would normally expect in a nice Brazilian restaurant, with lots of greens, really good ceviche, several eggplant options, a few cheeses and lots of veggies.
For dinner, the hardest part for non-Portuguese speakers is that there are so many options. Making it harder, is that the restaurant has only one English menu but it bears no resemblance to the actual menu. But if you can get past that, the steak is really good--any of them--the salmon with passionfruit(maracujá) is consistently excellent, and the pasta(massa) bar is really good, particularly the seafood(fruto do mar). We can also recommend the caiparinhas to start off with.
I have never had a bad meal here over the last 7 years. And I have always received service that is truly second to none!

I arrived at Itu and went straight to the mall to eat a quick lunch. I found this place almost by accident and had a fish entree with mashed potatoes and rice. It also included trips to the salad bar. I can't really say that any of it was outstanding, but it fed me when I needed it. I am curious about how evenings would play.

Tonilu Cafe off of the plaza has been a go-to restaurant for me, when entertaining groups from the US, for many years. Usually this is my introduction to Brazilian hospitality with a good selection of feel good Brazilian foods. The food is not over the top amazing, but always consistent and large portions.The salad bar is a bit eclectic, like most in Brazil, with up to 6 soups, plenty of salads, beets, quail eggs, and cheeses.
One of my favorite dishes is the large house special, a beef parmigiana topped with ham underneath all the cheese. One order can easily serve 4-5 people.
Beer selection is limited, Caipirinha's are ok but not the best.
Restaurant is arranged very tightly, lots of people in a small space. Please don't be offended if you get bumped or jostled around a bit. Just accept the fact that in Brazil your personal space is a bit smaller than some other places around the world.

This is one of more different restaurant in Itu. There you can found really special tastes everyday but this is better on weekends. They have one of the best Feijoadas from Itu. You can choose every ingredients separately, they do differents "containers" to each ingredients....MoreHello Diego Antunes! It´s a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed haveing lunch in Cafundó.
