ROMA Italian Resturant

On our way from Texas to Kansas we needed dinner and our stop here was not a disappointment. Very good and attentive wait staff, owner walking the floor constantly and the food was wonderful. Garlic bread with olive oil/parmesan cheese dip, pastas. All were good. When getting a salad ask for the dressing on the side....the only negative was way too much dressing served on the salad.

I love this place! Ever since I was young I've been getting the dozen doughnut holes my grandpa use to get us. They are always super friendly and the food is always hot and fresh!

Pork skins were fresh and brought to our table still crackling. Ribs were awesome as well as the sliced brisket. Pulled pork was slightly dry, but still had good flavor. Definitely will be back to try the buffalo burger!

First, they bring out salsa and cheese dip. The cheese dip tastes like cheese and isn't watery. The salsa is good with chunks of onions and tomatoes. We got 4 different types of street tacos and all were wonderful. I personally had the shrimp and the al pastor and they were muy bueno.

Went In for late lunch after visiting Fort Towson. Interesting circus history. I'm not one for leaving bad comments but wow! The waitress was very non responsive, took our order and went back to her seat. We ordered 2 cat fish lunch baskets and 1 shrimp basket. The fish was undercooked in the middle as were the fries. We Left and went to Braums. 2 star just because the circus history.

Los Compadre's Mexican Restaurant

Chose this restaurant from advice from our hotel. The food was quite good even though they were out of guacamole. Chips were good and plentiful and the salsa was tasty. The service was good but weird. We were seated by someone looking like they were right out of the kitchen with an apron and a hairnet. And when our waitress arrived, she was really goofy. But overall, the restaurant gets a four star for the food. I had enchiladas and my wife had a taco salad and each were good.

I am so glad this restaurant is not within driving distance of my home, because I would be there all the time. I really hesitate to add this place to trip advisor, because it might be crowded the next time we go. Seriously, we stop here every trip through Oklahoma. Today we had the lunch specials, and the only bad thing about that is we had no leftovers. I had #3, chicken parillas (I think), which is a chicken breast topped with melted cheese and mushrooms. I love mushrooms. I'm pretty sure these are canned mushrooms, and I don't know how they make them taste so good. Maybe it's magic! Plate came with rice and beans and small portions of guacamole, pico and sour cream. Try not to fill up on the salsa and chips, but it will be hard, because they are both excellent.
They also serve beer, and maybe a margarita, I 'm not sure.Reasonable prices and quick service should be enough reasons to try this place.

Last day of a ten day trip and we wanted some Oklahoma style BBQ. Right on US 70 with ample parking. I tried the sliced brisket sandwich and my wife had a chopped brisket sandwich. She fell in love with the spicy pickled tomatoes. Great food, attentive staff, and friendly atmosphere.

We try to hit Taco Mayo at least once when visiting family in Texas and in Hugo. We had a great excuse after spending a fun day in the sun, swimming at the Hugo pool. This visit left us a little sad because the cleanliness wasn't so good. There were flies buzzing and the food bar behind the counter was pretty messy. The floors were dirty too. I was ready to overlook all of that for a good taco BUT I can't say that we go a good taco! We did, however get major indigestion.

We will eat here again because I'm just not ready to give up on Taco Mayo. Maybe they just had a bad day? IDK. It's always been so good every time we've eaten here in the past. Prices are ALWAYS fantastic but that doesn't matter so much when the food is bad and the atmosphere is dirty. Oh well... next time :-)
