Hemphill is a city in Sabine County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,198 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Sabine County. It is located on State Highway 87 at the junction of State Highway 184, and is surrounded by the Sabine National Forest and the Toledo Bend Reservoir.

My 4 kids wanted water on a hot summer day so we pulled in to this Dairy Queen. I felt bad about just ordering water so I ordered a large cherry lime aid. I thought I heard the lady say small waters were free. Bigger cups would cost. When I got to the window she made 4 12 oz cups of water and my drink. The total was over $11. I asked how much was my drink? She answered $2.75. The waters were $2 each. Water costs as much as a soda.
I would not chose to visit them again. I told my kids "daddy just got robbed."

Best hamburgers - try it on the jalapeno cheese bun. Friday special is fried catfish and it's the best of any restaurants in this area, both Louisiana side of Toledo Bend and Texas side. My husband loves the Texas Melt. Also have shrimp special on Saturdays or you can get shrimp and catfish combo. Specials come with choice of potato, coleslaw, hushpuppies, dessert and a drink.

If you find yourself driving through the small town of Hemphill, Tx searching for a bite to eat, check out his wonderful little eatery. The decor is really cute with a somber, family type atmosphere. The food choices are abundant with everything from Burgers to Steaks to traditional Bar-B-Q. We had grilled shrimp and and smoked chicken and both were absolutely delicious. There was an extensive dessert menu but we were too full to try anything. They also have an outside patio area perfect for evening drinks. Just a great find in this small East Texas town.

Without a doubt, thi was the best Beef Brisket sandwich I have ever had. Very pleasant, friendly, folks. If I lived in the area, I would for certain be a regular.

I've heard people say bad things about the state of this restaurants kitchen but I don't think I believe them. First off, the owners are always there and they just don't seem the type to be gross, and secondly I've eaten here for years and never gotten sick. The food is as decent as any other successful Mexican restaurant, nothing special but the salsa for me is a star - warm, chunky, and spicy. The only complaint I have about the food would be that their fajita beef can be tough but its not awful. The flavors are pretty good. The staff is always nice and competent.

My husband and I stopped in this cute little cafe one morning for breakfast. I ordered the short stack. The pancakes were huge and just about fell off the plate. My husband ordered the two egg breakfast. Both of our meals were very tasty.

This place is a little unconventional in that it is a restaurant inside a connivence store and gas station, but it delivers! They serve pizza, burgers, sandwiches, chicken strips and more. My husband and I can have burgers, fries, and drinks for way less than the dairy queen next door, and it's much better.

Cajun plate lunches with two entrees everyday enough for two. Lunch five days a week. Give it a try.

Assuming this is in Lane's Grill. The service is spotty and the crowd devoted. They have excellent short orders, breakfast, lunch, dinner, deli, and pizza. My favorite pizza is the made to order Chicken Ranch. It's unusual cheesey and good. Lots of food well priced, just love those battered fries.

I really like the fried chicken here- on the spicy side but they are always out of chicken if you go between 5-7 & once they're out- that's it which is frustrating! And they won't cook anymore?? Two hours before close & you're a chicken joint & you don't cook anymore?
