Top 10 restaurants in Hanga Roa, Chile

April 2, 2018 Matilde Konrad

The epic Moai stone statues that stand guard over Easter Island are among the main attractions of this remote and lonely part of the world. Hanga Roa is Easter Island’s commercial hub and its only village. The airport is here, as are several restaurants, guest houses and hotels. Use it as a base for island adventures, which may include trekking, exploring white sand beaches, snorkeling, diving, visiting archaeological sites or even your own private spiritual journey.

Prices like everywhere on Easter Island are high...for the quality. But this was decent food...and a very pleasant location!
Next door to a bar playing live music which we actually liked....a better soundtrack than piped trash.
Sometimes used by groups...not so good.
Got to say though that this was the only meal that I really enjoyed.

We've eaten a late lunch/early dinner here twice in our week on Easter Island. We really like this restaurant. First, the ambiance is great--open-sided with great views of the water and guys surfing/boogie-boarding. Good for sunsets.
The food has been excellent for both meals here. The first time we had 2 pasta dishes: one with spicy shrimp that I loved and my husband had a chicken alfredo one. The second time: my husband had a great chicken-wok-jasmine rice dish and I (very boringly) had the same shrimp pasta because I liked it so much the first time. The first desserts were 3 types of helado (great). Yesterday we shared a chocolate volcano cake that was "out of this world".
We love the atmosphere. All the women servers were sweet and friendly. Sometimes service was a bit slow, but that is probably just a bit of the slower pace that we see here, compared to the fast pace of home. We can't say that the service was deficient in any way.
We'll probably got back for a third meal today.

I feel a bit uncomfortable at these types of shows where the guys and girls who have served you in the shop or driven you in from the airport get dressed up and pretend to be natives, but this one is done with a good degree of enthusiasm and a lot of skill. The show apart, the food was good, they didn't try to make extra on the drinks and there was a shuttle to and from the hotel. Don't go away feeling like you have met the natives that arrived here by canoe, but its a bit of entertainment and I have certainly seen worse in other countries.

We dined here twice during our three-night stay on Easter Island. Among the items that we enjoyed: ceviche, fried shrimp w/hot & sour sauce; seafood plate; and pineapple cocktail. While the food is tasty and plentiful, we also enjoyed the seaside view. This place fills up. If you don't mind arriving for a late lunch or early dinner, you can avoid a long wait.

Attention from the first of December until the thirty-first march we will be attending to all our Reservations at the hotel Hare boutik since the restaurant is in reconstruction, same chef same hours the same rules but this time with much more style, for the first time with an incredible sunset in the Mountains and right next to my new restaurant so please inform yourself about the rules on the web site and make a reservation

First of all, Kotaro restaurant is currently being rebuilt and Kotaro is therefore temporary in the location of the "Hotel Boutik" complex. In case you are looking for a hotel restaurant, then you will maybe not find what you are looking for, mainly also as guest is being served after guest with complete menue and it takes a bit long until you get your food. But in case you are looking for a High Level Japanese kitchen, then this is the best place of the island. We had 5 different plates that the 5 of us shared together (we were 2 adults and 3 teenagers). All dished were great, the 2 fish dishes were extraordinary. We were impressed by Kotaro and will be back again next time.

I was walking to my hostel from downtown where I ate yesterday. It is a bit pricey on the ocean front and that is expected.. I just don't always feel like paying the price so I chose to walk inland. I came across this place and asked the person eating on the patio if the food was good. He told me it was and so I stopped. IT WAS and for half the price... they didn't have fish so I opted for something totally different. Good choice

Miro is located on the north edge of town near the cemetery and didn't seem very busy when we ate there. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean and the cemetery (it feels weird to say that a view of the cemetery is "great," but it is), and the prices were reasonable. The pizzas that we had at Miro were probably the best food that we had on the island. Miro is a good place to stop for some food or drinks if you're heading up to see Ahu Tahai.

We came here twice for drinks and dessert and then dinner. Wonderful seafood, friendly service and lovely views. Not a huge menu, but the seafood was fresh, tasty and well presented and they managed to cope with my my very poor Spanish! Relaxed, Reasonably priced and perfectly cooked fish, make room for dessert. Recommended.
