I understand why it is rated #1, the food and service was amazing. The cornbread and butter was WOW! Who says that about cornbread?! You will if you try it. We had the trio platter and brisket and pulled pork platter. I would recommend both.

Tommy's is the place to go for breakfast. Be prepared to stand in line because everyone knows it. The line goes fast and the food is fantastic for both breakfast and lunch. I don't believe they are open for dinner.

Stonefired pizza crust with eclectic pizzas and awsome cocktails to go with. They have a great Cocktail with fresh rosemary and also a lavender lemonade (alcoholic) that is phenomenal. I also like their cucumber jalapeno cocktail...I miss this place so much! Pizzas similar to the Waterstone pizza in Lynchburg VA and Hearth Stone Pizza in Anchorage AK. A nice plus is the location..very cute area of Hampton within walking distance of the Air Museum there/downtown.

I have dined twice at Park Lane and have been delighted with each visit. My wife adores the char-grilled salmon. My son enjoyed the Makers Mark Chicken breasts and I thought that the Bangers and Mash were superb. The fish-and-chips was okay. The fish was quite a large filet - I would have preferred several smaller ones. Service is always cheery and prompt.

I had a decent lunch over looking the HRT bridge and over looking the water. Nice location on the rack side of Fort Monroe. I had the Big Fish Sandwich which was extremely good. My co-worker and I feel as the cost it high for a 2star restaurant. I would recommend to join them for lunch.

Mango Mangeaux

Reviewed By JJAncellotti - Williamsburg, Virginia

I know and understand Cajun cooking having spent several months activated in the USCG Reserves during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Beside the warm hospitality of the folks in southern Louisiana I so enjoyed my opportunities to sample Cajun cooking.

What a pleasant reminder of my time in Louisiana I experience upon entering Mango Mangeaux. I was immediately greeted in a warm and friendly manner. My server patiently explained the menu as I looked in awe about the colorful and seemingly full of life decor.

I asked my waiter how I should choose between Magnolia Shrimp & Grits or a bowl of Gumbo - two Cajun dishes I remembered well from Louisiana. She suggested the Magnolia Shrimp & Grits, and my dining partner chose the Quiche Florentine.

Okay, my luncheon was supposed to be a semi-business/catching-up lunch, however I was so distracted by the flavorful Magnolia Shrimp & Grits that I found my mind wandering back to Louisiana; what a delicious pick. I asked my partner what she thought about her Quiche Florentine and at first thought she didn't hear what I had asked her, or was she also savoring the smooth flavors of her entree? She finally said her quiche was delicious.

I also purchased a couple jars of their Mango Mango preserves while I was there.

This is definitely a spot I will return to when in the Hampton area!

Enjoyed dinner recently with my wife and daughter. Had the crab beer cheese for an app and it was perfect! Service was spot on attentive but not smothering. Spoke with the Manager as she checked on us. Could feel the passion in her voice for ensuring we were being well taken care of. Enjoyed a couple of cocktails and some local beer. Main courses were great everyone loved them my wife particularly enjoyed the chicken fried chicken. All in all one of the best restaurants I have been to in Hampton in a long time. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great local restaurant to give it a try, I know I will be back.

Taphouse

Taphouse is a nice place to grab a casual lunch/dinner and have a few beers. They are not pretentious and the menu offers mostly sandwiches and burgers…although they might have a seafood dinner as a daily special. Beer selection is very good and service is friendly. The crab cake sandwich was tasty. Live music on some evenings.
