Doellerer's Genusswelten

This golden star shines brilliantly. It comprises a gourmet restaurant, an inn (“Wirtshaus”), a fantastic vinotheque and a butchery with its own delicatessen.

Reviewed By barbaraebner - Leonding, Austria

just had dinner at the Wirtshaus which is the simpler version of their gourmet restaurant but one notices it is the same kitchen. Great meal, shared (2 p) 2 appetizers and main dishes: all great and very good service. Loved the venison carpaccio and the whole veal kidney - there is a certain advantage of an attached butchery....with a bottle of great Grüner Veltliner, 2 drinks and 1 app and 2 main we spent about 100 which is considered to many other places in the world we have visited and not enjoyed as much almost a bargain. decided to make this a regular stop on the way to skiing.
There is no private parking, but P is available towards the train station and only 3 minutes away.
keep up doing your great cooking!

A comfortable restaurant near Waterfalls in Golling - the hall is quite large, but cozy. Great Austrian cuisine, we ordered veal peppersteak and grilled reindeer fillet, both the food and serving were just perfect. Perfectly cooked meat went with tasty side dishes, which made a feast from a simple dinner.
Not all personnel speaks English, but they all are friendly and attentive to customers.
They have parking also.
Definitely great place to have a dinner in Golling, good for all - families, couples, or hanging out with friends.

We had two dinners at this Gasthof restaurant and the typical Austrian food they offered was excellent. Lots of people from the neighbourhood do come to it, which is a great sign of high quality. The atmosphere with great mountain views makes it very nice and romantic, and the prices are very reasonable.

The varied menu changes with every season and composes of both “Pub Classics” and “Inspired Main Courses”. This refers to a range of traditional pub dishes and dishes reinterpreted with a new creative influence. In addition we serve a 2 - course lunch menu which changes daily. We also have plenty of space for your celebrations and events. The Adler can seat over 50 and is perfect for christenings, weddings, Christmas or birthdays.

We have been here 4 years ago and this year, it was remodelled since then. It is a modern place with really good food, which is also styled beautifully. A little too "trendy" decorations for our taste, but considering local competition best restaurant in Golling. Highly recommend!

Goldener Ochs

Reviewed By Clare_and_Joe - San Antonio

My husband and I stayed at the Goldener Ochs, and several of our friends stayed in hotels nearby. We walked the main street but decided to eat here because we saw several local families doing the same (always a good sign). What sealed the deal was finding out that we could either order traditional Austrian cooking or Italian cooking, including pizza. That was a nice change after days of schnitzels. We ate outside in the shady garden area behind the hotel/restaurant, and we stayed there for hours, eating and chatting and having a good time.
Those who ate off the Italian menu pronounced it very good. The pizzas were generous in size, and my husband said the tomato sauce was fresh and tasty. I think every pizza completely disappeared. A mother in our party ordered lasagna al forno to share with her daughter, who is in grade school and a picky eater. It was so good that they ordered another one. I ordered off the Austrian menu, which had a number of traditional specialties. I ordered the lamb cutlet, and it was so mild that I almost forgot I was eating lamb at all. It was very tender, too. The potatoes were slightly undercooked, but other than that, I had no complaints.
The dessert offerings were pretty ordinary: apple strudel or ice cream, I think. Still, ordinary is fine if it's good quality, and several of us ordered the ice cream dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The beer selection was pretty ordinary too, but it had enough variety to keep us all happy. To close out the evening, we had a schnapps that was the smoothest I've ever had.
The service was reasonably attentive, relaxed, and friendly. Overall, we were very happy with our choice and wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

McDonald's Golling (A10)

Reviewed By JWG_080353 - Noordeloos, The Netherlands

Absolutely not. This McDonald's outlet, at the West side of the Tauernautobahn (so readily accessible for those traveling North => South), deserves an entry into this guide. Here, McDonald's made an effort to make this outlet completely environmentally friendly, being built up from locally available materials (wood, stones). Having said that, the site was very pleasing, with excellent coffee and snacks, friendly staff, and simple but well-designed comfortable seats. McDonald's Golling will be one of my favorite stops on my next trips!
