I was in Glengarriff for a weekend with some elderly biker friends. We had an evening meal here and the variety of the food was just about ok but was very nice when it arrived. Some had fish, some had homemade burgers, beef. It was a nice clean place and very friendly and helpful staff. The few patrons at the bar seemed to be enjoying the beer and Guinness but as we were just stopping for food and were driving we just had minerals and the complimentary water. Good value here and I would stop again if passing through.

Had spent the day sailing and rowing and went to enjoy a drink with a few friends. What a find. Something for everyone and even took a picture with the 70 year old fridge. At the front of the bar, good company and friendly service. At the back, music to be enjoyed. A great bar, friendly staff and must when you visit Bantry.

We had dinner at the Snug and took full advantage of their great menu featuring local seafood. The service was excellent, firendly staff. Nice to hear banter with the local customers. The styling in the small cosy bar/restaurant is totally unique - a tree and beautifully carved tables and chairs. Food portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable. Missing out on a meal in the Snug would be a big mistake.

The Park Bistro

Frankly not worth the high ratings in my opinion. Average gastro experience at best but nicely decorated interior that rides the coat tails of the adjacent hotel.
As for the food, I started with a bowl of the chowder which had the consistency of hot scone batter, and little bit of sea food were interspersed in the sticky mortar. Bowl was also very small. Poor value unless you thrive on pretense and an upscale illusion. I opted to end my meal after the first course and move along...
