Geleen (Dutch pronunciation: [ɣəˈleːn]; Limburgish: Gelaen) is a city in the southern part of the province of Limburg in the Netherlands. With 33,960 inhabitants, it is part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen. Geleen is situated along the river Geleenbeek, a right tributary to the river Meuse. The Latin name for Geleenbeek is Glana, meaning "clear river". The town centre is situated at about 60 m above sea level.

We visit this restaurant, wich we new from the past, with our Greek friends who came for a short holiday. Maybe it was the day, a tuesday or the time, between 18.00 and 20.00 our, not many people in the restaurant. It looks like there was no chef in the house, anyway it tokes an hour to get the food on the tabel. The food was average, but it looks like we had to pay the bill for an empty place. Shure we payed some things double. We maked our complaines to the owner, and with excuses and a ugly face he blamed his staff for the mistakes, but he was the one who has make the bill. We visit this restaurant many, many times before. With family, with friends and with sportteams in the past. We will never go back there.

Rather small but friendly,modest yet bold in the chefs choices.
Superb from start to finish.
House wine not expensive and delicious.
A La Carte menu is not extensive but whatever you choose it will be top class.
Great evening with my wife thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Will go again and soon.

went there with some friends with the offer for Valentines. The food was as always good, however, on the offered menu was no more salmon, so the offered us tuna, but did bring sole fillets. that is a pitty. The offered half bottle of champagne, for free they forgot, but we did get a few drinks of ouzo, so at the end, we where quite happy

Stopped in for lunch after day of shopping. Enjoyed excellent onion soup au gratin and cappuccino. Will definitely return for a lunch date with my wife.

Dutch friends of ours treated us to dinner here. And wow, what an exceptional treat it was.
It's a little out of the way and situated in a predominantly pedestrian shopping district. You park in a multi-level parking structure and walk about two blocks but it is well worth it. Most of the other restaurants in the district were slow... This place was full.
Our friends are regulars here and we were greeted like we were family. The owner himself showed us to our table and welcomed us. Menus followed... Phenomenal choices. I chose the kabeljauw (cod) filet dinner with frieten (french fries), my wife chose a house special meat sampler which we elected to share so we could each enjoy both entrees.
As soon as the menus were gathered, the Ouzo shots materialized... Then the wonderful Greek salads. All seven main courses arrived at the same time, all piping hot, all fresh.
The entrees we had were fantastic. Absolutely the best cod filet I have ever tasted. The seven different types of meat in the sampler were equally delicious. The portions were very generous and we ended up taking a goodly amount home. We topped off the meal with a great cup of cappuccino.
The prices here are very reasonable for the exceptionally high quality of the food here. Likewise, the service was excellent as well. Our thanks to Henry, our server. Outstanding efficiency, responsiveness, and service. We had a wonderful dining experience and would absolutely eat here again.
As a reminder, the American custom of free refills for soft drinks and coffee/tea is not practiced in Europe. You will be charged separately for each beverage. Also, tips are already included in the price. Save your additional tips for only the most outstanding service.

Small but nice and cozy living room decorated "eatcafe" on restaurant level. About thirty seatings for dinner, drinks only limited if there is a free table or on reservation for whisky lovers. Over 550 whisky's in stock, expert advice is always possible! Also very extensive range of other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Illy coffee! Constant four beers on tap. Monthly whisky tastings. Extensive menu with Scotch (whisky) dishes, local and international, mostly Mediterranean cuisine. Ever changing vegetarian dishes. Asparagus, mussels, salads and rich choice of venison in the seasons. Diets and allergies expert chef always present. Environmentally conscious, biologically appropriate and fair trade are important. Training company for 20 years, working with handicapped youngsters.

Having read the reviews for Bagels & Beans before we visited Sittard, we decided to try it out. We were far from disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious! Great flavour combinations, affordable and really good. I highly recommend it. We happened to be there on a beautiful bright sunny day and they even provided sunscreen on the outside tables!!!!

Amazing Ribs with apple sauce and generous chips and salad as side. For chocolate lover, you must try their moist and warm brownie with vanilla ice-cream. It's a nice restaurant for family with young children as there's a play area where the kids can play and entertain themselves. Good pricing for the food quality and portion! We will definitely visit again!

My business colleague & I were deep in discussions at the local office when he noticed the time and realised that we were seriously late for the lunch reservation he had made at De Lindeboom. However, after a quick, apologetic phone call and a dash in the car to the centre of Beek we were soon installed in the light conservatory style part of this delightful establishment. Our tardiness was not an issue in the slightest. The reception of the waiter was professional, friendly and I loved the way that he switched effortlessly between perfect English (with that special quaint Dutch accent) and Dutch.
Having ordered our non-alcohoic drinks (yes, unusual for me I know but I had to drive later that afternoon), we took the decision to go for the 45 minute, 2 course set lunch. This was an excellent choice! After nibbling at the hors d'oeuvres (including bread in a paper bag...), we were soon tucking into a light salad with thinly sliced cooked beef and a sort of tomato relish. This was followed by game in a sauce containing wild mushrooms. I didn't get the full description, but suffice it to say that it was delicious. Within the promised 45 minutes we were sipping our post lunch coffees and enjoying the small chocolates.
The whole experience was wonderful. I have the impression that my host will be here more often and I do hope that he'll invite me again.
