We really enjoyed a huge bowl of potato, onion and peas soup, it warmed the cockles and filled you with tasty nourishment a crusty bread roll would have been preferred to the sliced bread but overall a good meal..
Pastries and coffee looked and smelled good that's for sure,
Welcome was not the friendliest.

I last visited this Inn two years ago. At that point the owner reported that he and his wife intended to sell up, so we expected some changes. In the event, they remain in charge, although they were not there when we visited. Six of us took pot luck, appearing in three different cars from three different directions, but all arriving in roughly the same time frame. We were just in time. The place filled up very suddenly, clearly being well renowned and commonly enjoyed. There seemed to be just one waitress on duty, but she coped magnificently with great goodwill. And we enjoyed a good pub lunch (fish and chips for four, fish pie for one and macaroni cheese for the last). A thoroughly enjoyable visit, made all the better because of the magical scenery

We "dropped on" this bar/restaurant by chance as it is off the main road but we were glad we found it! As with all bars etc around this northern remote part of Scotland, pub lunches are not cheap as there is not loads of business to keep them going. Accordingly, to survive the food has to be good, and it was! There are loads of different menus' to choose from and my wife and I had steak panini's which were accompanied with fries and salad. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal which was washed down with a pint of best!
Dogs welcome in the bar area!!

We have slowly worked through the menu at Myrtle Bank and every selection was good. The portion sizes are very generous, the salads are ultra fresh and even the vegetarian choices are really tasty. Personally recommend roast beef, roast pork, lamb shank, veg Wellington and veg lasagne plus black pudding starter but other choices brilliant too!

Giving this a three star only for the food and beautiful scenery which was pleasing to the eye. We had soup and fish followed by coffee and tea. However how we were spoken to was completely out of character from the taste of the surroundings and unacceptable in any environment which gives hospitality as an important part of its business.
Having said this the food saved and comfortable surroundings saved the day.

Staying at hotel so not much choice but to eat here. Booked table on checking in and instead of eating in the fab looking dinning room, we were told to take a reserved table in the bar with plastic table top. Shame as not as nice.
We had the burger and sea bass and it was ok. Not much to say.
Next day had breakfast in the nice dinning room which was good but slow.

Received such a warm welcome when we weren't sure if the restaurant was open to non members. Sat outside on the picnic bench tables overlooking stunning scenery of the bay and beach in glorious autumn Sunshine and temperatures into the 20's! The down to earth Scottish hospitality from these two ladies who served a wonderful and very reasonably priced lunch, was a credit. Highly recommended - simply perfect, thankyou very much.

This cafe is recommended by Lonely Planet and could be fantastic. The view is good, The food looked good and some tasted good. I ma prompted ot review becase the service was very bad. The women in charge who I believe is the owner was one fo the grumpier people we met on a 5month tour of Europe. She was loudly critical of and to the young man working there, she was unwelcoming and ignored much of what we said to her. The coffee was ok but made with reluctance and an offhand attitude. We felt as if we were intruding in her space and a real nuisance -- at 11 am !!. We had driven out of the way to get to a place which we felt would be special place for a coffee. It was but in all the wrong ways. We are New Zealanders who do not normally complain but this place was worth complaining about.

On the Main Street in Gairloch this cozy little coffee shop is attached to a bookstore and has a glass sun porch in the back overlooking the water. Coffees and home made baked goods are both good.

This establishment is I new hands. Ignore all previous reviews, the fish is beautiful a d there are many other options , haggis and scampi to name just two. I have no reservation in highly recommending this slightly hidden away fish and chip shop.It was very busy when we visited last week but every effort was made to give a speedy service.Only open in the evening.
