L'Ancolie

An excellent restaurant a short distance outside the ski resort of Flaine. Free transport in winter season. Pizzas Delivery. Local specialities and gastronomic food . Amazing cocktails and excellent wine list. Pleasant service friendly staff. Open on winter and summer seasons

Went there as a couple for our final night and it didn't disappoint. Began with drinks, sat on sheepskins by the big, open fire with complementary nibbles. Moved on to a traditional racelette melted on embers. Food was delicious and well presented. Atmosphere was great. Didn't have desert as we were full. Not a cheap night but great value for what we got. Thoroughly recommended.

Firstly the staff are very friendly . The food are excellent and good selection too . We have been to this restaurant few times .However is advisable to book before hand because it is very busy . We tend to go there around 12 noon which then have a better chance of getting a table without booking .Highly recommended .

L'Igloo

Reviewed By Supertaster13 - Cheltenham

I’ve been coming to this restaurant on the slopes since I was a child and it was just a wooden cabin serving excellent steak frites. The years have passed and the building has changed & expanded and probably the ownership. It’s still very busy and popular. Menu is typical of the region with very tasty and copious salads and savoyarde specialities. I’ve got happy memories of sitting outside on the lovely terrasse in the warm spring Sunshine and enjoying their tasty home made lasagna & pommes frites washed down with a lovely artisanal cider. Every time I come skiing I always head to this place as it has a special place in my heart. These days sometimes you have to book to be guaranteed a table. I haven’t been in the summer but it looks lovely. When it is cold and snowy it is lovely to sit close to the log burner. It’s just hard to get back on the slopes and not linger in the warmth! Staff are very pleasant and friendly.

Le Michet

When in the Mountains, do as the Mountains do.
In many years of skiing I’ve enjoyed many alpine meals; the raclettes, the hot stones, you know the score.
But Le Michet makes it truly special. Excellent service (Stephane looked after us very well!) and amazing food with little flourishes that really made the food stand out from the pack.
It’s a short walk across the piste from the main resort so no excuses not to spend a great evening here during your stay.
And the beef rib is frankly ridiculous.

Aux Petits Oignons

Gourmet restaurant, fine and varied cooking, friendliness and cosy atmosphere. Terrace from May to September. Open from September to June.

We were here for evening meal. Ate three different dishes and all were superb - both food and presentation. Service was attentive without being interfering.
Only mistake (possibly on our part) was we were offered a shared starters plate as one of the main meals would take so long to cook and we were under the impression this was free - actually charged 17 euro on bill.
As in all restaurants in Les Carroz wines are overpriced - including the local Savoie wines.

We loved it here, the place itself was nothing special but the food was good and the view was priceless! This place is at the top of the mountain and the main lift. You can get there without skis. With skis its a good starting pint for many runs back down the mountain. The food was great, burger, tartiflette, panini, the pizza bases are stretched out in front of you and cooked fresh and my husband loved the lemon meringue pie. The croque monsieur on the other hand was not the best but it didn't stop us from going again. On quite a few days there was a BBQ which looked and smelled great but we didn't try it. Hot chocolate with Chantilly was good too! I wish I had tried a cocktail but I stuck to wine trying to keep spending down. The weather was fabulous and the deck was a sun trap. Mont Blanc looked stunning. Good or bad weather its definitely worth the trip!

le blanchot

Reviewed By MijasEsteban - Mijas

The lower floor of this restaurant on the Serpentine run from Grandes Platières is a self-service snack bar. I stopped for lunch on a sunny day during the busy half term week. There was a five minute queue. Saucisses Savoyardes and Frites were 10.90€, 25cl of bière pression was 4€. Food was adequate- I don't expect a lot from mountainside chalets. Useful stop while skiing down.

Lagrange

Reviewed By Mackie1967 - Lymington, United Kingdom

We ate at Lagrange nearly every lunch time whilst on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks and setting of the restaurant.
Staff were very friendly and always chatty and pleasant.
Food was really good, fresh and tasty and the drinks were good and not too expensive.
It was a great little place, run well and would have gone for dinner if we were not staying half board.
