Erkelenz is a town in the Rhineland in western Germany that lies 15 kilometres (9 miles) southwest of Mönchengladbach on the northern edge of the Cologne Lowland, halfway between the Lower Rhine region and the Lower Meuse. It is a medium-sized town (over 44,000) and the largest in the district of Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia.

This is a new old local restaurant: good old German hospitality in a modern ambiance. Friendly service. Good food for little dollar! Recommended. Only minor minus: waitress did not come back on question about wificode.

We visited this restaurant with our German friends. It was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and Simon the owner seriously knows his wines. He introduced us to many varieties to compliment the food and my husband had the best steak he had ever tasted. There is no rush and the the experience is very personal. Totally love this place and can't wait to return.

This little restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was quite delicious. They have special seasoned spicy pork chops that were some of the best I have ever had. The wait staff we had did not speak English but it wasn't difficult to work with them.

went here a few times and sadly it was never the same quality of food but always indifferent service.
If you leave most of your meal on the plate because its tasteless and greasy, you might expect the staff to ask what's wrong with it, but no, it just gets cleared and no questions or offer of something else or reduced bill. Won't go back.

Die Tagesgerichte sind immer klasse. Auch sehr für Schnitzel zu empfehlen.
Weinauswahl könnte hochwertiger.

A small and very cost restaurant and bar with French flare and a cosy atmosphere to accompany great food. Good value for money and something different. We loved it and have been back several times to enjoy.

My husband and I went there looking for a nice pizza....and we were not deceived! The pizza are good and the salad too! We ate outside but the inside is also nice and at the end of the restaurant there is a great patio!

Die Marktschänke ist ein echter Tipp. Wirklich gutes Essen zu moderaten Preisen in netter Atmosphäre.
Bereits öfter im Sommer mit dem Fahrrad angefahren, es lockt der nette Biergarten.
Heute entschlossen wir uns sehr spontan zu einem Besuch und ergatterten den letzten freien Tisch- Reservierung ist wohl besser.
Eine gemischte Speisekarte mit dem was man von einer Dorf Gaststätte erwartet- Schnitzel ( die übrigens gut aussahen), Currywurst.
Und dann die etwas andere, eher unerwartete Auswahl: Pulpo, Ochsenbäckchen, Skrei mit ausgezeichnetem Risotto.
Ochsenbäckchen fiel förmlich auseinander, tolle gehaltvolle Soße.
Wirklich alles lecker, vielleicht ein bisschen zu üppig, aber gut.
Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend.
Geht mal hin und lasst euch überraschen!

La nuova tavola in Erkelenz has some peculiarities being an italian restaurant in Germany: they are really italian ( and not Croatian or Egyptian or whatever else) , they cook with italian taste ( they do original italian recipes without compromises to satisfy german taste), they have fish ( this is also common in Italy but not in Germany for a restaurant) and they are also friendly. Having said that I recommend this restaurant also for the quite ambient and the service they offer. The only negative aspect I could see is that they do not accept credit card but just debit ones. Price is ok if it were in Italy but for my experience a bit higher than average for Germany.

Diego‘s ice-Dream is by far the best ice-cream I have ever tasted. It is definitely a reason worth to visit Lövenich. The ice-cream is made fresh every day without conservatives and it only contains fresh ingredients.
We really Love it and will always visit Lövenich to eat an ice-cream ;-)
