This is a standard, small town DQ. Outside ordering window. Very small town feel. They do a good job to keep up DQ standards. It is reall a good small town ice cream stand. Memories of old.

Common Man

Great atmosphere with a great selection of beer and food entrees. As a Nacho Wildman, every place I visit the nachos keep getting better. Ordered Three Amigo Nachos and expected about the same from all the others until I got the taste of their yum yum sauce. Wow! I don't know what the sauce was, but it was YUM YUM! Great service and super busy for a Saturday night. And fresh cheese curds from the town's creamery was a nice touch!

Shady Grove

We eat here several times a year. We celebrated Valentines Day there this last week. I always get the filet minion and it never disappoints, it's on my list of best steaks I've ever had. Desserts are always delicious, too. I often get a grasshopper as mine though. It's a small place, so reservations are a good idea. Can't wait to go back!

No buffet at this time but they have a very large menu to choose from. Items are made when ordered - nothing sitting around getting cold. Great food, large portions, and very reasonably priced. We go there often! They will be closed for about the first three weeks in July for remodeling.

Just Ka's

Reviewed By MNWineLady - Saint Paul, Minnesota

Stopped by Just Ka's today for lunch. We had three hungry kids with us and needed food. I was met with a smile by the owner when I opened the door to ask if they were serving at the moment. We went in and were greeted like we had been there before. The Bloody Mary's were fabulous! I ordered a beer first, but my friend made the better decision. After my beer was gone - I thoroughly enjoyed my own Bloody Mary. YUM! We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer. I am not usually impressed with cheese curds away from the Food Building at the MN State Fair, so much to my surprise - these were impressive. Best I have had away from the Fair. Then we ordered burgers for lunch. These are hand-pattied, so the edges get nice and crispy. They were also done perfectly - still slightly pink in the middle. We both ordered the SOB burger - fried jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and a Frank's Red Hot. That was one good burger! Neither of us were overly impressed with the fries, they were just fries. My 8 year old liked them, though. This is definitely a place I will visit again when I am in Ellsworth. What a great way to start 2014.

We stopped here today for lunch because we had heard they have good gyros. We both ordered a gyro and we thought they were very good for a small bar. I would not say this is a Mexican restaurant because most of the menu is american. Tuesday is taco Tuesday according to the menu. We also had the fries and mushrooms. The mushrooms were good but the fries were ok. We would recommend trying this place. Our total bill without beverages was $20! Big portions at a decent price!

We frequent Suhbway more than any other restaurant in town. It is the cleanest Subway we have ever been to, the staff friendly and fast at food prep. They are never standing around, always cleaning and restocking. Everything is always fresh(pun intended)

Gas Lite Tavern

Reviewed By Dead Skunk S - Twin Cities, MN

The Gas Lite Tavern sits among the rolling, winding roads of east central Wisconsin that are loved by bikers from the Twin Cities. The place is decidedly low brow. During warm days, the place is quiet but for the roar of loud motorcycles riding by. Lots of bikers stop in for a cold one or a quick snack.

The place is old and it has seen better days. The wood paneling dates from the 70s and there are lots of posters for bike rides and charity events. A few locals sit around the bar and talk with the bartender who knows everyone.

The Tequila selection consisted of Patron and garbage. The beer selection is mostly large national brands. The food selection is mostly frozen finger foods dropped in a deep fryer and frozen pizza.

I went there with some friends while enjoying a sunny Friday afternoon on our motorcycles. It was time to wet our whistles and I needed some food. I ordered the chicken wings. They are small and heavily breaded. They come without any sauce on them. The bartender doubles as the cook when things are slow and she did a good job with them. They were bland and a bit greasy but that is to be expected from frozen wings. They were what I needed to slow the alcohol intake while riding.

If you're not a local, this place is not a destination but it's a good place to stop, rest, rehydrate and grab a bite while you're out riding the twisty roads. It seems like it's out in the middle of nowhere, but it's close enough to the cites and worth the ride.

Order two sandwiches, They charged me for three. Got a refund, but still got three sandwiches. Poor communications. I could not eat all three sandwiches because they were also very poorly made. Did not taste good at all. Did not like waisting food, but just could not eat this mess.
