Kintyre House Grille and Tavern

Full Name is Kintyre House Grill & Tavern

Kintyre House is our always reliable escape from fast food when we're in the Dillon area. The menu is not adventurous but has enough variety to appeal to most tastes. The food is very good. Tonight the teriyaki salad with steak was delicious. The steak sandwich was tasty. That's not to say the food is always perfect. The chili tonight was delicious but was only warm, not hot in temperature. The onion rings seemed as if they had no actual onion inside the fried batter.
Our server tonight could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She checked on us frequently, always with a smile. Once she came by with a partly-filled pitcher and emptied it into my partly-empty soft drink glass, filling it to just below the top. We congratulated her on estimating so well what was needed, and we learned she takes pride in doing that!
The atmosphere is casual, the food will leave you satisfied, and the service is always friendly and attentive.
For a satisfying meal in Dillon, I recommend Kintyre House without hesitation.

Delicious Mexican rest.. Extensive menu with plenty of choices. The burittos were filled and tasty as well as the queso apps. Steak and churizzo was terrific as well. They have a hot and mild salsa that was so good you couldn't stop. And let's not forget the Margueritas they sneak up on you...

What a fun and delicious stop on our way through South Carolina! Who ever expected to find authentic Middle Eastern food in Dillon? We enjoyed shawarma and kabob pita sandwiches that were filling and reasonably priced and just plain yummy. The owner greets every patron with a smile and unlimited Turkish tea on the house. Don't refuse the tea! It's sweet and complex and amazing!

We got lost trying to follow the directions at our motel in Latta had given us to find a restaurant when we saw this place. We really didn't want pizza but were too hungry to keep looking for a place to eat, so we went in. We were very pleased to see the menu when we got inside. Prices looked good so decided on a pasta dish. The waitress looked at us and said we might just want to order one dish and split it. Glad we listened to her. The serving was HUGE. The staff is so friendly. Was sure glad we got lost and ended up here. I don't often rate a place excellent, but they earned it.

Zaxby's

Reviewed By c5mjb - Wake Forest, North Carolina

We were desperate for a place to eat, and that "other" phone app that supposedly finds good places to eat had led us to two closed establishments and we had wasted a lot of time, so we settled for Zaxby's. It was that or Wendy', and we weren't about to go to any of Pedro's dumps at South of the Border. What a mistake. The service was pretty slow for a fast-food place, the ladies' room was dirty, and the men's room was so cramped you couldn't open the stall door if somebody was standing at the urinal. I tried to get some sweet tea, that was empty, and the soda fountain was out of regular Coke. How can you run a restaurant in the South without sweet tea or Coke??? I wound up getting vanilla Coke, and that was tasty. The chicken salad sandwiches were good, and I liked the vintage sports equipment on the walls (including snow skis...in South Carolina! LOL)

We visited here because we were looking for some sushi and grilled fish
After reading the reviews I decided to go with the scallops. We asked for extra vegetables and a little spicy. One of our party needed low sodium and very little oil on the grill. They didn't hesitate and used a very little coconut oil. They complied with our every request and came out with five large scallops for me, an abundance of grilled vegetables, and a lot of rice. They also provided some Vietnamese hot sauce and wasabi. The Sushi guy doesn't work between 4 and 6 pm so Sushi wasn't an option. This is not a normal Japanese restaurant but they also don't have high prices. All meals came to about ten dollars per meal. We were a take out group.

We were on a long trip and took a wrong turn and stumbled across this Bojangles. The service was very quick, the employees working the drive-thru were super friendly. The food was hot and fresh, I could tell it had not been sitting around under a warming light. Bojangles prices are always fair, all locations. This is a very well run location of Bojangles.

Thursday is Liver day at the Charcoal Grill - a long time favorite of the locals in Dillon, SC. This is a typical southern buffet where fried chicken is a daily staple, complimented by changing entrees for other days of the week. The choices on the Thursday I was there included the aforementioned liver and fried chicken along with baked chicken, cornbread dressing, rice and gravy, sweet potatoes, butter beans, squash and a couple of other choices. There was a salad bar but its offerings didn't entice me. Dessert was small slices of 7 layer cake, coconut cake and german chocolate cake. The food was typical greasy spoon type, but the baked chicken and dressing was surprisingly tasty. Of the desserts, the coconut cake was light and moist with just the right amount of coconut flavor without being overpowering. The 7 Layer cake tasted like a cheap cake mix and the icing was far too sweet for my taste. The german chocolate cake tasted like a cheap dark chocolate cake mix (not the smooth light chocolate of even a german chocolate cake mix) with a thin smathering of a caramel type frosting but no coconut or nuts in sight. In fairness, I understand that for the price of $8.00 you shouldn't expect a delicious homemade german chocolate cake, All in all, if you enjoy southern food, give this place a try and hope they will be serving coconut cake that day!

Popeye's Chicken

Reviewed By Toddb62 - Columbia, South Carolina

Popeyes when it's right is my favorite fried chicken. However inconsistency plagues this chain. This location is a perfect example of the lower end of Popeyes. I usually get a 2 piece spicy when stopping which is not often. This time I ordered a 3 piece with red beans and rice as a side. These were the poorest red beans and rice from Popeyes ever. They were prepacked with the sauce separating and almost no rice. The Chicken was extra salty. Although options are few in Dillon I would skip this Popeyes. There are better Popeyes to get my fix at.
