We decided to go here on our last night, we had read the trip advisor reviews that said it had a good choice and was reasonably priced. Again we came unstuck due to our lack of understanding of the Dutch language, therefore we went for the lamb as it was the only thing we knew for sure. I'm sure the one waitress who was willing to speak to us in English would have advised us but we felt a bit uncomfortable asking for help. The food was good, tasty and fresh, I had no problem with the quality of the food, it was good, slightly expensive but good all the same. The issue I had was with the staff, we were treated a little bit like an oddity , only the waitress who took our order would speak to us, everyone else seemed to avoid us at all cost.

A must visit place for bird watchers, also nice for ordinary-not-really fascinated-by-birds people. To the latter De Slufter has to offer beautiful open spaces with glimpses on the nearby beach and spectacular sand dunes. The place deserves a few hours of your time.

After a bad pannekoeken-experience in another restaurant, my family was very delighted to find this nice location. They have a lot of pancakes to choose from, some with local food, some exoctical like "cili con carne", some sweet ones that are good as a dessert. And the prices are not too high either.
I can highly recommend the "Texel" pancake which was so good that I ordered it both times we ate there and the second time my sister and mum wanted it too.
The waitresses were very friendly as well. One was even trying to teach us some Dutch as we faild to pronounce everything correctly. Can you say "achthonderdachtentachtig"?

I tried the lamb burger with garlic sauce in this restaurant. So delicious! Served with a salad and very tasty French fries. Very recommended! Staff was very friendly. This restaurant sells its own cookbook + a variety of local products. Too bad we weren't long enough in De Cocksdorp to have dinner there as their menu card looks delicious.

We got there around 1245 and it was completely packed, but we were able to get a seat inside before too long. Lots of families with young children had gotten there early. Nice glassed-in area outside (blocks the wind) to eat as well. Staff seemed really busy as well - we were sitting for over 5 minutes before getting a menu. The lunch menu was not in English and very limited but what we got (hamburger and chicken sandwich) were delicious. It's also a great place to walk along the beach from. We walked to the lighthouse and back along the beach in just over an hour. Recommend!

On the beach at Paal 28 this restaurant is a nice break if you are making a Texel tour. Very good cod fish. Excellent beer ( local Texels). Very kind service. Reasonable prices. Recommended

Many visitors know the way to our cozy pub restaurant de Rog (English: Ray) in the middle of the Kikkertstraat, the main street of the village Cocksdorp. In summer, a cozy Terrace on the village street and a second Terrace on a beautiful nature were you can eat and drink. In high season there is often something to do, such as the 'Durper' market and live music. Once you come in our restaurant, you will notice a hospitable and jovial received by Petra and her employees. Delicious food at a table or at the bar is what we offer you. Every day we have various specials on the menu for every single course, like soup, fish, meat or vegetarian. All of that is in addition to our normal menu. We will help you if necessary, also with our extensive wine list. And of course we have seasonal dishes like asparagus with ham or salmon. The salmon is smoked by ourselves and our delicious pea soup is not to be missed, but then only in winter. A good reason to come over in winter. Please note that you book on time to avoid disappointment. It is still often the case that we have to send people home with an empty stomach. Especially on weekends! Used to visit this "brown" pub/restaurant for many years. There was a change
of "local" management and we did not recognize the "friendly" atmosphere
adhered to "the Rog". Other than pleasing the client, it seemed that we had
to please the "manager on duty".
Our advise: You better change your attitude or you will loose your customer base.

"De Robbenjager" is a nice, recently newly renovated restaurant with tasty food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and a perfect location in the National Park "Dunes of Texel" near the famous lighthouse. There is ample free parking. The menu offers dishes for everyone's taste (e.g fish, meat, vegetarian food) at competitive prices. Be sure to check out the menu on the website of the restaurant. Outdoor Seating available. Limited opening times in winter.

We stopped in here for a drink and stayed for lunch. We were lucky enough to come upon this restaurant when it was quiet enough that we were able to grab one of the comfy couches in the sun. The kids were able to play on the beach within our sight. We decided to stay and have lunch. I went for the meat salad and my husband for the fish salad. Both were really well presented and tasted fab, the kids had paninis, chicken wings and chips. I would definitely recommended this place.
