We've been traveling Korea with a bonafide Korean friend and this was hands-down the best traditional meal we tried, and we tried a lot. Each of the individual ban chan dishes was the best of its kind we've sampled. And several were unique and fantastic.
Language might be a problem for tourists, but just let them feed you, you won't be disappointed.

The Galbi in this restaurant is the best Galbi you will ever eat in your life and its a must try when in Damyang. I have been here twice and it is like going to Galbi heaven. The staff are also very friendly.

Tasty ddeokgalbi! Bamboo rice (rice cooked in bamboo cups) is great too. I loved the bamboo shoot salad. It was a bit pricey (about 70,000 as I recall), but we enjoyed it immensely!

청둥오리전골을 전문적으로 판매하는 맛집입니다. 반마리, 한마리, 한마리반 기준으로 판매하고 있습니다. 공기밥은 별도로 주문해야 합니다. 다만 야채는 고객이 원할때까지 무제한으로 제공하니 그 혜택이 큽니다. 다시 찾게되는 맛집이지만 좌석이 좌식만을 제공해서 오래 앉아있기는 불편합니다.

담양은 떡갈비로 유명한 곳입니다. 그중에서도 신식당은 지역에서 맛있게 한다고 이름 난 곳 중 하나입니다. 한우를 다져서 갈비 대에 붙이듯 감싸서 숯불에 굽습니다. 세 덩어리를 1인분으로 해서 내놓는데 달짝지근하게 맛있습니다.

담양하면 대통밥에 떡갈비가 떠오르는 고장입니다.
죽녹원 정문 우측에 위치하고 있어 별로 멀지 않습니다. 보통 관광지 바로 옆 식당은 비싸고 맛없고 불친절한 곳이 많은 데 이 곳은 전혀 그렇지 않았습니다.
비록 손님이 많아 왁자지껄 하지만, 친절했고, 가격은 관광지 식당치고는 비싸지 않았으며, 밥이면 밥, 국이면 국, 반찬이면 반찬 다 맛있었습니다.
특히. 전과 채소샐러드는 전채처럼 나와서 외국인 손님들과 같이 가도 좋겠구나란 생각이 들었습니다.
관광지 식당에 식사를 하며 기분좋게 먹고 나올 수 있어서 정말 좋았습니다.
덕분에 과식하게 되었답니다.

It has so cool concept. We drank delicious smothi and bamboo tea. There are beautiful garden. They gived us fruit fot thanksgiving day. You should go there later bamboo forest.
