Once Upon a Thyme

Reviewed By Jane S - Olympia, Washington

On an industrial street where you find tire, transmission and alternator shops there is this most delicate, warm, inviting restaurant. Unbelievably delightful, fresh and original flavors served with grace in a most inviting setting. Sesame ginger quinoa slaw pared with chicken pinot grigio soup and rounded out with pumpkin kahlua tiramisu... just a few of the exotic, tantalizing offerings. I have given a few other restaurants five stars but having eaten here every other place slides into three stars.

Driving with colleagues from Seattle to Portland and we found this place to stop for breakfast. Really welcoming and obviously a favourite with the locals.
We had the special which was banana and walnut pancakes with eggs and bacon. Great choice. Pancakes were so light and tasty. Definitely bookmarked for future visits.

Dawn's Delectables

Reviewed By Sungron - Washington

This is a pleasant place located in downtown Centralia with a great line of soup, salads, and sandwiches. Service is great and the staff pleasant. I can honestly say that I have never had better clam chowder on either coast. The toasted ciabatta served with it really tops it off. We have to return.

This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant. The owner is from southern Mexico. Don't expect typical Mexican fare but do expect good food

Starbucks

You gotta love it when you are traveling and come upon a factory outlet. We decided on a pit-stop that turned into a coffee stop at Starbucks. My adult daughter left her wallet in the bathroom and we didn't discover it till 2 hours later. We called and they had found it and held on to it. You always got to love those stories. We always stop here as the coffee is great and the people are nice and eager to help. Oh yeah we all found treasure at the outlets too! Hooray! We were all happy travelers.

Country Cousin

Reviewed By cjpardo - Everett, Washington

This chain has a country motif going on with farm buildings next to the restaurant building, old fashioned wood tables, old decor of signs, pictures etc. plus classic food like chicken fried steaks. The portions are sizable and prices are somewhat reasonable. I went for a crispy chicken salad and I got full before finishing. Choice of regular drinks plus alcohol and the overall ambience was a little noisy but it's a fun place. There's also a gift shop to get knick knack animals, antique like decor, plus candy and toys. If you want some old fashioned American food this is a good bet.
