We enjoyed a Sunday lunch here in mid October. The restaurant Terrace is lovely, adorned by greenery and made a very pleasant setting for lunch. The menu offerings had me regretting that I had been affected by a bad meal the day before and needed to order more bland items. The salads were excellent, the cod, which is a house specialty, delicious and the beef fillet was tender and perfectly cooked as ordered. The Waitstaff were very busy as the restaurant was full but still charming and attentive. The desserts of fruit salad and ice cream and a lemon sorbet were the perfect conclusion to a lovely meal. The restaurant is located a little further from the port area (still a very easy stroll) and we seemed to be the only table, which did not have locals. Highly recommend.

We had dinner out and the overall experience was good. The staff are friendly, but one of the waitress was new and needed lot of help. The food is nice and we especially liked the octopus and the miniburgers. Maybe the dessert was the thing we didnt like too much, it was a coulant a bit dry but the coconut icecream was very good. We had a full meal for 25 € per person (drinks and dessert included). Well be back.

Restaurante Los Habaneros

The Los Habaneros Restaurant is an ideal restaurant in Cartagena opposite the Punic Rampards and Tourist Office. Our cuisine is mainly Mediterranean and since September 2014 we have a new Chef. We have different places for groups and private celebrations.

We stopped here for a Saturday lunch in mid October based partly on a recommendation from our hotel, the NH. The interior is interesting with part of the floors being clear to see the level below: the promised tour of the restaurant did not eventuate. We had a table in the corner so we both faced walls. Our waitress was charming and was kept busy as the restaurant was full throughout the service. There were a number of children in the restaurant who loudly raced around and up and down the stairs (a parental issue but it affected the ambiance). Our first dish, a salad, spent a number of minutes on another table before being transferred to us. The salad itself was nice. We made an error when one dish, artichoke and foie trumpet was not to our taste yet we still ate it. The tuna tartare looked pretty but was heavily sauced and the cod was good but the vegetables less so. Based on our experience, we would not return on a day when it is heavily booked.

We decided it was time to go back to this restaurant & took our son & his girlfriend. We were all very impressed with the food - the starters were very tasty. Our main courses, between us were the entrecôte which was excellent, the ribeye for 2 people was very good & the suckling pig was also very good.
The waiters were friendly & helpful.
There is only really one criticism & that is that we would've liked hot plates, they were cold which meant the food got cold quicker.
We will be back soon.

HIdden deep in a residential area, blink and you miss it. Essentially it's just someone's house converted into a restaurant. Finding a good vegetarian in Spain is difficult and I would definitely rate this place. Our daughter's Spanish came in very useful and the owners were helpful on advising us, particularly on portion size. They are huge - we halved our initial order and it was plenty. Delicious, slightly different vegetarian food. Worth the hunt.

Bodega La Fuente

A snack and wine bar. Our speciality is the Cantabrian Sea anchovy that we produce in Santoña and prepare in the tradicional way, handmade. A extraordinary quality product, our anchovies are in the most of our snacks.

If dining at La Uva Juminalla (nice tapas!!) across the street and you want the dessert on the menu, they will direct you across the stree to Bodega la Fuente. The "tarta de la abuela" is definitely worth the short walk! A delicious conclusion to your meal.
Don't be discouraged if the people at the counter take a few minutes to notice you as a walk-up. Just the local thing to do, apparently.

Was looking for a typical Spanish seafood restaurant, really didn't want any tourist stuff. This was the place to go!
We both had the menu at €14.95 pp, a nice bottle of white wine and some water. So many dishes of excellent seafood, a crab terrine, a croquet and a weird deep fried herby dumpling, a tuna salad, a plate of mixed fried fish and seafood, a rice dish, fish/prawn stuffed peppers. All beautifully cooked and served by excellent staff.
Place was buzzing and full of Spanish families.
Exactly what we wanted.
