The Purple Fiddle Coffeehouse and Mountain Market

As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by two large dogs. I knew right then that I'd love this place! There were musicians setting up for a performance later that evening, but we didn't stick around to listen. You ordered at the counter and they deliver the food. I had the pork loin special with apple chutney. It was fork tender and the apple chutney was perfectly seasoned. The only issue was that they served it in a plastic basket with waxed paper liner. Pork loin and apple chutney do not work well like that. The paper disintegrated and it was impossible to cut off a piece. So owners, if you read this, I'd recommend serving the pork loin on a plate! The others had sandwiches which they enjoyed. This is definitely a no-frills type place and don't expect much besides sandwiches and chips. They were offering only 1 daily special the day we visited and the rest of the menu was sandwiches. But it was good quality and a fun building.

We stopped in here for supper after the employees at the Trailhead Coffee Shop across the street recommended it. They said the owner is vegetarian and it was evident with the vegetarian options available. This is a burrito place and that's pretty much all they serve. They do have some fun combinations and the burritos were HUGE! I couldn't eat all of mine. I liked it and would recommend checking it our for an inexpensive, filling meal.

A unique atmosphere and with a strong earthy vibe. They have quality ingredients (organic yogurt, grass fed beef, etc). but a limited menu. Mimosa and bloody mary bar with brunch on Sundays starting at 10 am. Good service. Coffee was good. You are not going to get a run of the mill breakfast sandwich or steak and eggs but, if you are prepared going in, you won't be disappointed. It is a bit pricey, $4 for a latte and around $6-$15 for food. We spent over $30 in just a quick stop.

Stopped by this place for the first time while in Canaan Valley. Had a really friendly waitress and good Italian subs. We were disappointed we couldn't get french fries this night with our sandwiches (they only bake them occasionally), but chips were ok.

Iron Bridge Bistro

After hearing positive reviews, we decided to stop in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The Friday night before was very busy with all tables filled. This time, we were sure to stop in an hour just after opening and the seats were plenty.

We were happily greeted and seated. Upon being handed the menu, we were told that the entrees were not available for purchase at that time. Kind of a bummer as they had some delicious choices such as shrimp scampi 12 oz New York strip BUT we understood that they had dinner hours and after seeing their dinner menu options, it was obvious why the place was packed the night before - the options looked delicious.Even so, the lunch hour menu had other great options without the entrees such as flatbread pizza, salads, and burgers. Our group decided on bruschetta, a meatball flatbread pizza, bacon black & blue flatbread pizza, bistro burger with bleu cheese, and a bowl of their signature chili.

While waiting on our food, we noted the layout: simple and clean. They had some artwork on the walls and I do hope they add more as the long linear layout is perfect for gallery style look. The food came out within 15 minutes. Hot and fresh. Everyone agreed that their food was yummy and filling. My bruschetta was beautifully presented on a round plate situated to look like a flower with fresh herbs in the middle. I was very pleased.

While lunch was delightful, we do plan on returning for dinner to see what the raves are all about and I do not think we will be disappointed! Keep it up, Iron Bridge Bistro - it's refreshing to see Parsons grow!

Otherwise a friendly, down home eatery with made from scratch home cooking and locally sourced supplies. We stopped in for breakfast and found a nice selection of standard items as well as platters. My only bad comment was that my eggs came out over medium-hard rather than over easy, but the cook should get one free pass. Breakfast served all day from 8 AM on. The lunch menu looked good. A pleasant place to stop for a bite while doing the many little shops of downtown Thomas.

We stopped here after our sons basketball game. Upon walking in the place was very full. The service was good and the food was also good. We got the pizza, which is hard to mess up. I have had better and I have had worse. Prices were average. I would try it again. The bathrooms were kind of dirty. The restaurant is very eclectic with odd signs and knick knacks all over the place.
