I have rediscovered Arabica in the Old City. I had stopped going there because I felt the service was not up to par. I'm happy to say that the last two times I've been there, totally amazed by their upgraded menu and service. They aim to please.

Kampai Sushi Grill

Reviewed By Aharon D - Beersheba, Israel

Kampai used to be our restaurant of choice in Beer Sheva. No more! The quality of food has constantly deteriorated. For example, we have ordered our old favorite Ramen Soup, but what arrived at the table was nothing but it. A few spaghetti noodles in some hot gravy with a piece of chicken on a stick on top has nothing to do with Ramen Soup. Surely, we have complained. The chief waiter listened politely, said he will pass the complain to the so-called Shef, but nothing else follows... Like in our previous visit, a year ago or so, I would still encourage the owners to allow for some flexibility in the composition of the dishes upon reasonable customer requests. We will return next year to test the hopefully new version of the Ramen Soup...

Fantastic authentic Morrocan food. Absolutely scrumptious! The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because of the overbearing owner. He is very insistent on ordering particular dishes to the point that it becomes unpleasant. If you want a great experience and you are willing to hand over the reins to the owner then you'll have a great time.
After perusing the menu I decided on a starter and a main. After the intervention of the owner I ended up ordering neither. I was hungry and couldn't be bothered arguing with him.
Thing are done with a certain ceremonious flair which I thought inappropriate for a mid week lunch.
The food is excellent, make no mistake.
Parking is plentiful and the toilets are modern and clean.

The cappuccino with goats milk is tasty and novel; anything goat based cheeses/yogurts are absolutely delicious; and best of all, the hilltop Seating with spectacular views turns a rest stop on the highway into a fabulous experience

We were five couples for lunch. The atmosphere was simpatico but the service was slow and unprofessional. The menu was quite diverse and we altogether ordered most of the portions. The meat was tasteless and very fat, a real disappointment. However, the price was not so easy to swallow. In short, you can find better deals.

Came her twice while in town. Once for breakfast, very good. Had an omelette with all the fixings. Second time came for dinner, okay. Server (American from Detroit) was excellent, food not so. Falafel was totally tasteless, as was the dip that came with, my chicken dinner was really not seasoned. My husband's fajitas had a little more flavor but still really lacked. Very nice clean place, good parking, very good service just need to ramp up the flavors in the food.

As mentioned in my previous reviews of this place (and I have posted three of them to date), the value is unbeatable given the quality of the meals, which in my opinion is the most important thing in a restaurant.
However, small things sometimes make a difference. Nothing critical, really, but still worth mentioning. So here we go.
1. Mineral water is served in plastic bottles.
2. Our waiter had no idea about the origin of the wines we ordered.
3. Delivery of the meals to the table was out of sync with our wishes that had been plainly expressed when ordering.
4.The menu, however interesting, stays unchanged for a number of years.
The above said, the place is warmly recommended.

Cafe Lola

I usually love LOLA, it is calm, nice, tasty and different. Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing, I went, as I always do with my friend to celebrate her birthday with a big breakfast. The onset and Tabule Saled were good as always, but the bread was so dry - and bread is so important when you get all the spreads! I complained, and the waiter told my that all the bread is from the day before and that it has been defrosted. We got a different bread but you could still see it is old, and I guess it has been there for a while, not a day. Overall, it is a nice place but I think breakfast ingredients are suppose to be as fresh as possible, and this did not happen at my last visit.
