Party of 4 got seated right away on a cold, rainy Friday night. Appetizers of the Eggplant Tower, which was fried eggplant, sliced mozzarella cheese with chopped tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. Eggplant was a little too thinly sliced, should have been a bit thicker. Still good flavor though. Also got the fried beef slices with horseradish sauce. Just ok. Tasted like chicken-fried steak. Entrees of the French cut pork chops and the Braciole with a lobster tail on the side. Mixed veggies, stuffed potato and a house salad. All entrees very good with large portions. We also ordered the pumpkin bread pudding to share. Warm and delicious.
Our server Brian did a great job.

Pasquale's

Food and service was competent (the hostess was strangely lackadaisical) but nothing really stood out. The meat sauce seemed to have little to know meat in it, the mushrooms were canned, but the meatball was really good. Portion sizes were gigantic, I'd have preferred a lower price point with smaller servings. The garlic bread was passable and my wife thought the veal piccata was decent. Not bad by any means, just nothing memorable. The tiramisu was the best part. The manager, who came by to ask how things were, was very friendly.

I spotted the sign for Sweet Frog from across the parking lot. Felt the need for a yummy dessert. I had chocolate and it was truly the best chocolate frozen yogurt I have ever had. Went to another in another city but the yogurt was too soft. This one however was absolutely the best. Will remember to stop again.

Campestre Mexican Grill

Reviewed By Cathy S

This was our first visit. The food was tasty enough and the portion size is more than adequate. Reception was a bit “flat” as no one approached us when we entered and there was nothing to indicate whether we were to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We just stood there waiting for some “sign”. Finally, a server who was standing nearby took us to a table. Our server eventually arrived to take our drink order. His reaction to us not ordering anything too exciting was underwhelming. Same when we ordered our food. No enthusiasm, no smile, just “flat”. When the bill arrived, I noticed an overcharge on one of the dinners. I questioned the amount and, after some back and forth about what the menu actually said, got the amount corrected.
We eat regularly at Mexican restaurants in many locations. Campestre is ok but far from among the best.

I have eaten here for 30 years, every time I stop through the area I spend like 60.00 bucks here taking food home. The hot dogs are awesome! I would do some very sketchy things for the chocolate pie. The pizza isn't a traditional pizza but it's King Tut pizza I order two large and freeze one when I get back to NC. It's just goodness in a sack if you don't like this place then you are a really whacked up person!

Fujiyama Japanese Steak House

Reviewed By Ben_Theretoo406 - Chevy Chase, Maryland

Still feeling adventurous after a lunch in a burg called Stuart’s Draft, Ben and Mrs Too had our first dinner of this trip at Fujiyama. This is one of those Japanese steakhouses of the Benihana class featuring dinner around a large table on part of which a skilled chef bristling with knives prepares meals for eight or ten folks at a sitting.

Just being brought together with two or three other parties (complete strangers, as a rule) is a big part of the fun. Mrs Too and Ben have had many a memorable evening at Benihana, which is pretty much the same sort of place. Some things Fujiyama does better; other things the reverse is true. Ben has had trouble getting his arms around the Fujiyama name, as there appear to be a number of restaurants bearing the same name, but apparently unrelated. For all Ben knows, Fujiyama may be Japanese for Great Restaurant!

At this particular location, a singularly popular attraction is the very large koi pond with very large koi fish swimming around like tigers in a cage. This is very handy for purposes of staging a table full of diners. We are used to eight at a Benihana table, whereas those at this Fujiyama seat ten.

A unique feature at Fujiyama is the policy of serving one of their huge dinners split between two diners for an additional nine bucks. People the age of Ben and his bride can seldom finish a normal meal, so this is a very welcome innovation.

Our chef put on a marvelous show, whacking his knives, clacking his shakers of seasoning, all the while maintaining a delightful banter. Having performed his entire routine, he strutted off to a well deserved ovation. Food was good too.

If you have never tried one of these so-called Hibachi tables (a hibachi is actually an altogether different animal), you owe yourself a treat. Ben and the love of his life are certain you will find the experience very entertaining and totally enjoyable.

Not far off the beaten path and well worth it. I didn’t realize until after I ordered my wings that they make their own sauces. The Carolina seems to be very popular. We will definitely be stopping here again. Also try the Italian Wedding Soup.Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your meal. Hope to see you again soon!
