I don't want to build up your expectations. This is not a five star Michelin restaurant. It is classic Italian, red & white tablecloths, Mafia looking owner, fantastic pasta and has great service. It doesn't look like much when you walk through the doors. But when the guests begin to stroll in for lunch and are greeted by the friendly owner and exceptional staff,the place begins to come alive. Expect nothing and you will be blown away.

During recent visit, we had two dinners here because the first was so delightful. Truely deserving of it's Michelin Star. First time had 10 course tasting menu (120 euros) and second had 7 course (about 70 euros). Because we had so recently been there, they graciously mixed up the dishes.

A friend from Bagheria suggested us to go there if we wanted to buy some pastries. The "Cannoli" are really delicious! And i also hardly suggest the chocolate and the pistachio bigné. We also bought there the "7 Veli" ( 7 veil). The waiters are not very nice but the products are sublime!!

This restaurant across the street from the Museo Gattuso is a wonderful find. While the amount of English spoken by the staff is minimal, one can do fine just by trusting them. Spaghetti with clams was simple but well prepared with very sweet clams. The spaghetti with homemade sausage was perfect. Merely asking for an appetizer "caldo" brought a wonderful array of treats.

Having stayed at the Domina Coral Bay Hotel for over a week and feeling very let down with the choice of local restaurants, my boyfriend and I stumbled across this restaurant in the very local Bagheria. We had an absolutely incredible Chateaubriand with chips. The meat was still cooking on the hot plate they served it on. It was a HUGE fillet of beef, about 1 and a half inches high and more than enough for two people. Absolutely delicious and only 30 Euros for the both of us !

Thanks to Maria and Salvatore, for the wonderful time we spent into their restaurant: kind people, elegant service and a reasonable price for a top level food and wine pub. Don't care about what you eat at "Sapori del Contadino ": whatever you may order, it will taste soooo good!!!

We went here several times And they have a great selection of very high quality gelato. Other snacks as well (cornetti, assorted hot foods for breakfast, quick lunch or snack). Lots of space to sit but typical Italian thing about not wanting you to sit at their tables unless you want to order from the table and pay different prices (ubiquitous around Italia and annoying to Americani who are used to a more relaxed set of rules around this at a coffee or gelato bar at home). Anyway, highly recommended I you don't need the bathroom, otherwise you will likely encounter the gross situation of no toilet seat and no toilet paper, etc. Public bathrooms remain a huge cultural shadow for Italians (with rare exceptions at a few establishments that are more gracious, clean, and thoughtful).

This old style foccaceria has only one plus- food. Dont expect comfortable chairs, spectacular view or staff running around you. The best comes up on the plate & this is most important! Recommend as it's delicious and cheap!
