We found this restaurant really special in June of 2010 and were looking forward to another spectacular meal in August of 2013. While the service remained extraordinarily good, the quality of the food had declined seriously. We were so disappointed since our first meal there was great. Perhaps understandably it seems to have turned into a neighborhood cocktail lounge to make it work financially. It had previously served ceviches of the quality and innovation one would expect of Douglas Rodriguez. Was there a change in chefs during that interval?

And now we have two double rooms with private bathroom, hot water, internet wi-fi, satellite TV, etc.To 500mt.del Tonsupa's Levee surrounded with pretty flowers and in a very cozy(hospitable) environment one finds the Restaurant - Pizzeria " The Pergola ".I mark and your wife Teresa they give the welcome to all the Persons who wish trascurrir a moment of relaxation being useful to savour the delights of the Italian Kitchen(Cuisine).Pasta(Cash), Meat and Fish prepared in different recipes and the Pizza cooked in the oven of fuelwood, since she dictates the Italian time-honoured custom, are them attractive principal.We wait for them to offer them better of that we can do.

We made the mistake of going to Atacama/Tonsupa for a holiday. If you haven't booked to go there yet then don't. It was a very unpleasant experience. If however you are already there then this place is a nice relief from the ugliness of the two towns. The restaurant is the front of their house and set in a nice garden with the outdoor kitchen at the very front so you can see some of the action. I really liked the ambience. I had the slow cooked pork in a red wine sauce and it was delicious. My husband had the pasta marinara which was a lovely flavour but it had small bits of broken clam shell in it which were not pleasant to bite on or sift through. Our boys had pizza. We also had tiramisu for dessert which was definitely NOT tiramisu-runny custard, no mascarpone-overall though we still enjoyed the dining experience.

variety of local sea foods on the menu. Any sea food with coconut is recommended. Little bit costly. restaurant is clean and spacious enough for 50-60 people. just few blocks away from the Tonsupa beach

the restaurant was recommended to us but when we first arrived and saw televisions and music we were seriously dubious! However the food was delicious. The grilled calamari was delicious and succulent , the grilled dorado was equally top class. I drool even thinking of the mixed cerviche. The portions were enormous and we ended up with a take away that was more than welcome on the bus trip the next day

The menu is great, the food was wonderful, but the frustrating experience of having the first entrees arrive twenty minutes before the last of the initial (and rather basic) drink order was served really doesn't make it worth a repeat trip. Dinner took more than two hours, most of it spent waiting or complaining. When the bar guy makes jokes about how disorganized the service is, that's saying something/

I came here with some friends from work seeing as one of the group insisted that this Italian place was really good, and it sure was. I mean, it looks like any other fast food place, but in terms of flavor, its pretty good from what you can find around the place. I tried the frutos di mar and jamón serrano pizza. A personal one was pretty big, and in general ever one was satisfied with what they ordered. This is a must go, not so expensive and really tasty.

The BFR is a unique place where you can taste the best Ecuadorian gastronomy, especially seafood. It is located, two kilometers from the beach. In the restaurant you can taste our specialties accompanied by an excellent panoramic view of the sea and the breeze in the evening and at night the stars and moon offer a show like no other.

It has a capacity for 200 people where coastal food specialties, pastas, pizzas, executive menu and specialties of our Chef is offered; is open to hotel guests and the general public. The restaurant is complemented by the Clover Cafe which has a capacity for 100 people and the same services that are offered in the restaurant; the unique atmosphere around the pool is suitable for swimmers.

We did a chef's tasting, which I would recommend. Make sure you have time. I think our lunch took 2 hours. The food was unique and incredible.

You almost miss it - but defiantly should not. Just before you get to the town of Same coming from Atacames, on your right side there is this small Pizza place, looks ordinary but is spectacular. We had the extra-grande, half Hawaiana and half Mixicana (with Tacos), very gooooood. Don't miss this one if you are in the area. Did I mention that the Mexicana is with Tacos:-)
