Ordered chicken curry and the chicken was pink in the middle! Have had to wait a while to write this review as I had just given a good review the week before! From one week to the next there couldn't have been more of a difference!
After calling the restaurant I was offered another meal but I already felt sick. I emailed the pictures of the uncooked chicken to them with no response.
Don't want to go into detail but that meal didn't stay down very long! Avoid if you don't want food poisoning!

Friday night & decided to choose the Corran Inn for dinner. The three of us shared the starter for ywo & there was plenty. Mozarella sticks , chicken drumsticks , garlic mushrooms , onion rings & prawn tempura plenty for everyone. I opted for a featherblade steak having disappontingly chose a steak the previous week & had been totally unsated. My wife had her favourite peppered chicken & son had rump steak. All were lovely & my steak was exceptional , well cooked & well rested. Totally satisfying my craving AT LAST. I finished with cheesecake which although a bit soft tasted delicious and my son had sticky toffee pudding which is always delicious. If you visit have a steak they're BRILLIANT.

Dropping off a family member for the boat to Arran we decided to drop in for a lunch, not over-impressed thought the meal was OK but expensive when you include the price of soft drinks (£2.30 for a small sparkling water). There are far better deals in the area and can't see a return visit anytime soon.

I was passing through Ardrossan today and pooped in to Garfield's for some lunch.
Good choices on the menu - I had the albondigas, patatas bravas and garlic mushrooms. Had some bread beforehand. The food was lovely, well cooked and tasty.
The staff member serving me (didn't get his name, guy with dark hair and glasses) was really friendly, attentive and chatty. Confortable place inside, bright and spacious. Full marks, Garfield's.

We hadn't been in the Lauriston for about 5 years. The food was good, the service was fine and helpful but the surroundings were tired and a facelift would do the place the world of good. All it needs is to be brightened up a bit.

Jaipur Indian Restaurant

Reviewed By Sandancer77

When my husband and I turned up, the restaurant was empty. During our meal, only one other table was occupied so it was on the quiet side. The restaurant was quite cold inside so I had to keep my coat on. Not ideal. I did not receive the starter I ordered even though I pointed to what I wanted as well as asking for it but it was quickly rectified. The food was very tasty and the spiced onions served with the free popadoms were particularly tasty. The downside to our evening was the very young girl taking the order and serving. She was clearly not up to the job and should not be front of house until she receives proper training. The error over my starter was down to her. There was no please/thank you at all from her but her constant staring was very unnerving. She brought each dish out one at a time which was a bit weird and slow (yes, she had 2 hands). We paid by card but she took our card away which is a no no. Then she watched my husband type in his PIN number instead of looking away. Another no no. She needs more training I think. Such a shame as it put a damper on our experience.

The Orangery

Reviewed By Stuart R - Ardrossan, United Kingdom

We use the Orangery with some regularity, sadly last nights meal was nothing short of disappointing. The scallop starter was something of a major let down. At the price i would have expected easily three or four scallops. As it happens you effectively get one, thinly sliced. The main was a further disappointment as the sea bream was over cooked, substantially overcooked. My co diners comments were that the fish tea although pleasant was lacking in presentation, as was the monkfish dish, although the monkfish was delicious. All in all the service was good enough although slow at times. For the prices charged and with the new high end competition, I truly believe that the Hydro must try harder.
