We are a mature couple from Brisbane. We eat out regularly. This place has the reputation for being the best seafood in Airlie. This being the case, there is no great seafood in Airlie. We ordered the seafood platter for 2. Beer battered fish, very good. Chips, average. Moreton Bay bug, devoid of any flavour. Crab, same as bug. Prawns were good. Oysters were average /good. Scallops same as oysters. Tartare and seafood sauces, ample serving and good. Service was great, food arrived quickly. Expensive for what it turned out to be. Oh, and the dinning chairs were intollerably hard. Verdict, go to Woolworths buy some oysters and prawns and go back to your apartment. Save $80 and a number backside.

We stayed at the Colonial Palms hotel which was very nice but unfortunately the restaurant was disappointing.
Starting with the good, we were served bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and tomato dip as a starter which was very nice. The service was friendly and polite.
Unfortunately the food was not so good. We tried the veal pie which was somewhat chewy and the flavours not quite right. The fried rice was the real disappointment, it seemed to be using frozen vegetables, the rice was over cooked and the taste was overall not good.
Shame this was the case with the food since they were really very nice.

Very slow service... we left after waiting about 10 minutes to be served, and all we wanted was coffees x 2. Admittedly we called in mid-morning when a cruise ship was in town and Airlie Beach was overrun with tourists, but only having a staff of two extremely busy young ladies on duty, and knowing that a cruise ship was visiting, was very poor planning. Not good enough.

My wife and I went on the occasion of my 61st birthday while staying at the Boathouse Apartments which are above. I had done my research before booking our table and loved the look of the menu. The staff/owners of this establishment were great guys and girls and gave me a lovely surprise of a Birthday cake at the end of my meal complete with bic lighter candle ( because they didn’t have enough candles )..The restaurant boasts I believe over 360 types of beers boutique and normal. I think the steak I had was probably the best I’d had in a long time. I hope I get to go again when we return later in the year..

We visited here on the last night of our Aussie tour and we weren’t disappointed. Attentive and helpful staff, delicious food, good cocktails and wine. Refreshingly different from the normal offering of mainly fried food we have experienced elsewhere on our trip. Fresh ingredients to create dishes that were tasty and healthy. Would recommend if you are looking for something other than fried something and chips!!!!!

We popped to Cafe One 3 for a quick lunch while wandering around the town.
We were immediately well accommodated and informed of all the amazing vegan options they had, both on the menu as well as the specials board. Almost all of the veggie dishes could be made vegan as well, as everything is made freshly on site.
We opted for a big salad plate with a savoury extra. It was absolutely delicious, about 4-5 different types of salads with lots of variety of flavours and dressings. The food was super fresh.
We didn’t try any, but all there were loads of vegan cakes + sweets also that looked fantastic.
Would totally recommend this place for everyone, particularly veggies and vegans looking for great quality food in Airlie Beach.

Stopped in for dinner and walked out wishing I had another night in Airlie to try another burger.
I had the Hot Streak and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had.
Serving size was large, meat patty was juicy and the burger was packed with flavour.
My husband agreed with his burger, ordering their special sauce on the side. Made for a great chip dip.
Bonus points for Blue Moon on tap!
