I have usually called at the Cavallo for a pizza after going on the sleigh ride. I have never been disappointed with the food. The pizzas are very tasty and delicious.

We got there through an offer with the hotel we were staying at. Had a copious breakfast up in the Mountains, with a gorgeous view. This restaurant is situated at the bottom of the slopes at Postalm. It's a ski to the door type place with excellent food and service. The Terrace outside has wonderful views of the resort Mountains and slopes. A very charming place and very child friendly. Wheelchair access via ramp.
Very reasonable prices 40 Euro for four of us with drinks and tip.
Perfect for mid day meal and break from skiing.
Highly recommended

When we have visited Abtenau in Summer we have booked our accommodation as bed and breakfast, we have eaten at the Goldener on occasions in the evening, and have not been disappointed, wide menu and delicious.

We ordered the Almsalat (mixed salad with strips of cold beef and mountain cheese), Kasnocken (freshly prepared) and the pork loin served with fresh chanterelles. Everything was reasonably priced - the meat dish was 13.50 euros including vegetables and fresh noodles - and beautifully presented. Yes there were flies - but you sit next to the mountain meadows with a lovely view over the valley - and we finished with a portion of Kaiserschmarrn served with homemade plum preserve. All served by a softly spoken old lady in traditional tracht. So much nicer than the tourist overrun places in Abtenau centre.

on our way back to Salzburg, and this was our choice. An excellent one, Perfect scenery, Der beste Sonnenuntergang in our whole trip.... We took a superb soup, and schnitzel goulash. Everything tasted very very good,and the price was good too. If you are around this is a must. In Summer the view is simply what u should expect from Salzburger scenery.

Die Edtalmhütte liegt auf 1423 Metern zwischen Hornspitz und Gosaukamm. Sowohl für Wanderer als auch für Radfahrer bietet die bewirtschaftete Almhütte alles was das Herz begehrt. Speisen und Getränke werden überwiegend von regionalen Produzenten bezogen. Die Alm ist aus Gosau, Annaberg und Russbach gut zu Fuß und mit den Bergbahnen erreichbar. Für Radfahrer ein unverzichtbarer Stopp am Dachstein

We had a pleasant experience with a wood oven roasted-pig, deliciious. The guys managing the hutte are really very pleasant. They could speak English and also a bit of italian. A typical alpin hutte of the area. Not really cheap, though

We stopped here during a hike. It is a very typical Austrian Hut. The people waiting on us were very nice and the food was good. We would eat here again.
