This place is always busy, so we deliberately went late for lunch, but it was still very busy, and we'd to wait for a table with a view of Clach na Ben (mountain across the glen.)
The menu is extensive, and we had fantastic soup (pheasant broth) with bacon rolls (3 rashers each!!!) Service was ok; not up to the standard of the food.

We stumbled across this place at the weekend looking for something to eat - what an absolute find! We loved it! The host (John) was really friendly and welcoming and had a great rapport with all of the guests (some of whom were obviously locals - a good sign!). The food was amazing!! Clearly freshly home cooked and the chips were "to die for" as it said on the menu. The service was excellent (even the new waiter Bob who had his first night) and we just loved the whole experience! On leaving, John told us that he will be stopping his evening service soon which is a real shame as we would love to go back again!! He will however be continuing to provide take-away service and daytime meals. He will also cater for large groups by appointment. We will definitely keep it in mind for a special occasion where we have a large group coming together! Thanks for a great meal!

Royal Kashmir Tandoori

Indian/ Bangladeshi Restaurant /licenced child friendly/cater for vegetarians/ carry out /family orientated

Reviewed By Chris D - Warlingham, UK

Warm and friendly people running a good to better village curry house.
The Royal Kashmir offers a standard range of Bangladeshi curries but the menu includes a number of interesting specialities from the chef's home village. Those dishes proved to be very good indeed, whilst a chicken byriani was, by contrast, dull and boring and served with an unpleasant vegetable curry sauce.
Prices are quite reasonable.
The big downside is the powerful smell of damp/wet rot which pervades the restaurant. That becomes less noticeable as the kitchen gets going and cooking aromas penetrate the dining room

Best book! It is very compact and whenever we have been there, full. Dogs are very welcome! The menu is small, but unusual with enough to choose from. Very relaxed atmosphere. Service is quick and friendly. Tasty cakes aplenty! Well worth a visit. Whenever we were there, most patrons were repeat customers. Says it all!

The Black Faced Sheep Coffee Shop & Emporium

Reviewed By Richard B - Cupar, United Kingdom

The Black Faced Sheep Coffee Shop doubles up as a shop selling tasteful household goods. We had an excellent quick coffee but the accompanying scone was nothing special. Service was excellent and the surroundings relaxing. Perhaps because we visited towards the end of the day the experience was not up to scratch. Nothing in particular I could put my finger on but the experience was average. The menu looked comprehensive although on this occasion we settled for the coffee and the scone. Perhaps next time...

Riverside Cottage

Riverside Cottage is delightful eatery, in a great location serving home made and freshly cooked breakfast and lunches. Our food is available all day but we stop serving breakfast items at 12.30 in the summer months.

Stopped for lunch before heading back to Glasgow. To start £2.50 for a can of juice really. A bowl of soup, one tapas (which was 3 tiny bowl) a bacon Sandwich, Fish fingers and an ice cream was over £40. Food was ok but not worth the money. During our weeks holiday this was the most expensive lunch we had. We won’t be back as we feel totally ripped off. Sorry but sort your prices and portions out.
