Not a winner

Where do I start? First gave us a room that looked out onto an unkempt funky yard(did give us a different room). Asked for hangers as there were 3 for three of us- we never did get them. Asked for a pillow on Sunday and got it on Wednesday. There were no sheets for the sofa bed which had a dirty mattress(friend slept on the floor). Went out for dinner and came back around 10 and the gate was locked and no security to let us in(they never gave us the code or told us what time they locked the entrance) . Front desk guy seemed annoyed that I asked for sheets. No lighting at night around the complex Pool freezing cold. No toilet paper in all three of the pool bathroom stalls. The area is a perfect location for day trips but found the place needed much improvement.

Terrible! Do not waste your time or money

My husband and I travelled to Belambra with our 2 small children-aged 1 and 2. Wow what a disappointment. They need to get rid of the 3 star status and move to 1 star. If you are over the age of 70 this is probably the place to be. Peace and quiet but with a sad feel. The buildings are old and the reception toilets are disgusting. It felt like a hospital or dorms. We had a 2 bed ‘privilege’ room. I would be afraid to see what standard rooms look like. The rooms are tiny and the bathroom too. We booked for 2 nights (supposed to leave tomorrow) but we checked out early this morning. Not worth the price or the drive.

Lovely gite in a beautiful location

Reviewed By Melissa_Global

I booked a bed in the gite d'étape as it is on the GR10 route. The gite is part of a much larger operation which is well organised. I had a spacious, clean two room dorm to myself. I had a delicious dinner and breakfast in the main dining hall. The vegetarian meal required pushing the chicken off the plate but they did make me a separate salad and they get points for making the best picnic to take the next day. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The location is beautiful. Ideal for ramblers, hikers, solo or en famille.

Not what I expected

Reviewed By TravellerToon

I booked a night here as a stop on a multi-day trip. The reception was very friendly and there is a convenient secure parking space if you stay in the residence. If you stay in the residence you also get unlimited access to the golf practice area's and a card for golfballs, so it is perfect if you want to get some practice after a day on the road. However, when I came to the room, the bed was not made. There was just a duvet and two pillows without case, so you still had to put sheets and pillowcases yourself. Even if it is a room that is rented out as a studio, I'd expect that that is the absolute minimum to have a bed that is ready made when you arrive. The room itself is clean, but rather basic (which is unfortunately typical for France). The next morning at breakfast I unfortunately learned that a French breakfast is extremely basic, you get a croissant, some bread with butter and "confiture", a coffee and an orange juice. No cheese or ham, yoghurts, etc. Luckily the staff was very friendly and understanding and brought some cheese, but it can be quite a shock if you're an international traveler. I guess it would be okay if you just want to play some golf and stay a couple days, but it's maybe not the best choice if you are just looking for a one-night stop and expecting a hotel service.
