Would not complain about the food, itâs great. Just lacking on the service. After our main course we waited 45 minutes and nothing, not a chance of looking at the sweet menu, or asked if we wanted more drinks. Went to the bar and and all I got was sorry. Maybe a little more training with the staff, which I will say are very friendly and polite. Just felt that we were forgotten.

This is what I really enjoy...no plastic here a genuine pub.Real ale...at a price you can afford... Sunday lunch an English Sunday oneWith how many vegetables...I counted six or was it seven hiding under those roast potatoes ?.... lovely....oh for this pub to be near where I live... thanks for a experience...I long forgot...x

This is a spectacular place to meet with lovely old features and wonderful views across Purbeck. Food was excellent and good beers and wine to accompany. Booking ahead recommended but lots of room in either the bar or restaurant area.

Whenever I'm in Swanage (couple of times a year for diving) I always go into the Globe at least once. I can't help but not. The atmosphere is so friendly, I always feel welcome. The beer selection is always good and well looked after and the food options are very tastey.There's a lovely big beer garden out the back and the bar itself although small is packed with character.I'll go back here again and again whenever I get the opportunity. Being veggie the food options are a little limited but what they lack in variety they make up for in service.Outstanding points for good quality character, service and real beer.Go on in and make some new pals.

Our third venue visited for lunch,whilst on holiday .Iwent for double burger, my wife had ham salad and cheese. The food was as good as the other pubs we visited but in relation to the others was overpriced for no good reason. I had to go inside to ask a member of staff for knives as the outside station was empty he returned fairly quickly and dropped them into the relevant tray. We were sitting close by but had to collect them there were only two tables occupied so he knew it was I who had asked. This is hardly reflective of the prices charged.To recap no worse and no better than other pubs visited ,however a little overpriced. As there is a lot of competition probably will not bother again

Came for lunch last week with some local friends last week and was amazed how buzzing it was for this time of year. I soon realised why? Food was still served promptly and I had a delicious coconut tagine and my friend opposite had a fig and blue cheese tart which I was rather envious of too!!Lovely pub. We were given a good welcome by one of the friendly chefs.. He was efficient and very pleasant. We all chose the smaller portions for older people, which was a reasonably priced set meal.Two of us had pork roasts, with a good selection of perfectly cooked vegetables and apple sauce. One friend had cod in sauce and I had sausage, onion gravy and mash. Wonderful lunch at The Fox. Delightful old English inn that hasnât been bitten by the gastro pub bug that seems to have ruined so many classic establishments.Friendly, efficient staff, unpretentious and tasty food, cracking ales and a beautiful and unsullied interior made this a trip to remember. We will return!

Obviously a very popular pub as very busy but staff immediately found us a table, bought us menus and took our drink order. Food arrived promptly and was excellent and locally sourced and reasonably priced. I certainly would recommend this great pub for a good meal out.
