Great place for a beer or cocktail, but the food has been disappointing. I would love to give this a better review, but aside from an after work cocktail, I have not found this to be a great place for tasty food. Perhaps I have not chosen wisely on the menu, but after a few times trying, I am losing menu choices to try that might change my mind.

No atmosphere ( 2 tv screens featuring skateboarding) - the house specialty is a hamburger with spam-Google ingredients of spam - my cheeseburger was very good with salty but delicious fries for $9.00. Limited street parking.Friendly staff. Better than Macdonalds. Thanks for coming in Charis, we appreciate your patronage and the review. Some clarification, quarter pound burgers are the house specialty, and are offered with SPAM if you like. The standard toppings are lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle , American cheese and a housemade roasted garlic mayo. As a guest you may choose to substitute any of 4 other cheeses, or maybe add a few more patties, crispy fried bacon , or an over easy egg. Our pantry is full of fresh avocado, salsa , house pickled jalapeno or onion, lots to choose from so we can make your burger to your liking. The 8 tvs throughout the restaurant are tuned to various sporting events including surfing and x-games, we also just finished watching The Masters, looking forward to Derby Day and we feature both Bendbroadband and Directv with multiple sports packages , so we can follow the Timbers, Blazers and the Pac-12 , the friendly staff is more than willing to try and locate your favorite event if it is being televised.6 ingredients in SPAM: pork and ham, salt, water, potato starch, sugar, sodium nitrite

We stopped at the downtown location behind the Palace Theater. It’s a small satellite brew pub aside from the huge mother brewery on the outskirts of town. It’s a pleasant place to stop for a tasting of their beers and grab some delicious tacos. Just across from the river, there are tables outside, but too cold on the night we visited. Especially liked the Indian Pale Kolsch.

There is a lot to love about this brew pub, good beers, great food, lots of seating. We like all of that, we just don't like the parking. We were fortunate enough this time, to find parking within a short walking distance but probably because it was mid week. They also have lots of tables inside and they have their very own covered bridge out back. Good variety of beer. We liked the vicious mosquito and the red. Appetizers were all $10-12. We enjoyed the three dip appetizer, the burgers and the fish and chips. Friendly servers and everyone who helped us were nice

There are many excellent restaurants in downtown Bend - we were quite surprised. But once we discovered the the Old St. Francis School, we had found our favorite. It is, as with other McMenamins' properties, a thoroughly unique atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the food superb. And I can't recommend the blackberry cider highly enough. An interesting and eclectic menu, wine, beer, and cider selections. Thoughtful, tantalizing, surprising. it is a wonderfully unique experience in a fresh and interesting atmosphere.
