Wow!!! So much happened in this trip that it's hard to summarize. First off...take more cash than you think you need. You'll visit several places that don't have credit cards as an option. And then remember to tip your house at the end. We felt so bad that we only had $1 dollar left to give them because they were so amazing!! So nice and polite and knowledgeable. This was a very long excursion (12.5 hours) that was incredible and we're so glad we took the time to do it. We learn s so much from the guide and the places themselves.

A whole day dedicated to nature, beginning with the visit of Las Coloradas, also known as “the pink sea of Yucatan”. The color of the water is due to the high concentration of salt that has the bottom, which makes it a real show. Afterword we will move to the village of Rio Lagartos, located on the edge of a mysterious lagoon, also known as “the sanctuary of the pink flamingo”. Here lives more than 320 species of birds, between the mangroves that are the natural scenography of the place

Salvatore was very knowledgeable and gave us a great day! He was flexible in the order we did things, suggested Tulum first before it got too hot, then lunch, Coba and then a Cenote. For us this was perfect! We all (2 couples) felt like we learned something and got some great insights to the Mayan culture and lively conversation during the drives. Absolutely recommend this tour!

Highly, highly recommend Yucatan Excursions ! Polo is the best tour guide and I plan to call him when we are back in Yucatan. These tours were definitely the highlights of our trip!! Polo speaks excellent English, and is a wealth of information about the region. We planned two tours with Polo, and here is a summary of each.... Tour 1: We arranged to visit Uxmal, Chocolate museum, Hacienda and Cenote. We departed early morning for Uxmal and had an early tour which was wonderful— cool weather and pretty much had the ruins to ourselves. We debated about going to the chocolate museum and thankfully went. Again, we started early and had much of the park to ourselves- we fed the spider monkeys, had a mayan ritual performance that was dedicated to us, saw beautiful jaguars, and bad a traditional chocolate tasting- Polo knew the ins and outs. We then went to the Hacienda and enjoyed a private lunch. After lunch, Polo arranged for a tour of the hacienda and accompanied us for translation. We concluded our day with a trip to a off the beaten path cenote. Polo also arranged to take pictures of us in the centoe, and introduced us to local Mexican refreshments. We had an amazing day - thank you, Polo. Tour 2 - We had such a nice time with Polo that we asked if he would be open to taking us from Merida to Tulum with sightseeing along the way. We were thrilled that he agreed, and our day included: visit to the yellow city of Ixmal (including visit for breakfast at local market and visit to local ruins), El Bakal ruins, tequila tasting and tour in Mayapan, private lunch and tour around Valladolid, and then a cool off at an incredible cenote off the beaten path. Polo was very flexible, trustworthy and accommodating. We had such a great time on both tours with Polo, and I don’t think we would have had such a great time without our tours with Polo. In summary, I would highly recommend Yucatan excursions to anyone in Merida or the Yucatan region looking for an authentic Mexican experience!

We went to Chichen Itza, a cenote, and Ek Balam, with Vanessa and her new husband Yovany. Chichen Itza was great, but our favorite was the cenote, where we went swimming, and Ek Balam, where we could climb the ruins. We wouldn’t have done it any other way, as you can’t skip seeing Chichen Itza with its fame. I loved that this company was willing to take us on a personalized tour to just where we wanted to go. The van had excellent AC, Yovany was a great driver, and they did a nice job overall. A couple things I would like to have known: 1-bring snacks, sunscreen, and something to do or read along the drive. They take you to lunch, which is wonderful, but the tour went from 7:30am to 7pm, is a long day of driving, so snacks and something to entertain yourself would be nice (there is a lot of quiet time along the drive). 2-They kind of rush you through the souvenir stands at Chicken Itza and explain they will take you to a souvenir store later if you wish. The souvenir store is very nice, high quality, and very expensive if you are just looking for a few cheap magnets to take home. If you aren’t so worried about quality and see something you like at the stands, take a minute and buy them at Chichen Itza or wherever you see them along the way. 3-Bring a bag for the swimsuits and towels if you do the cenote, you end up carrying clothes and stuff around quite a bit as lunch is in the same stop. Lunch was delicious, the tour gave a lot of great info, and we love the pictures Vanessa took of our family through the day. Thank you—I’d do it again in a heartbeat!!
