If You are interested in archeology, this place is really amazing! The first habitation at the site dates from the Late Neolithic times (at least the 4th millennium BC)., It was during centuries extended and gradually developed into one of the main urban centers and ports of the Aegean. The town's life came to an abrupt end in the last quarter of the 17th century BC, but we can still see traces of it´s quite sophisticated multi-storeyed buildings , it´s advanced drainage system and other elaborate features! Unfortunately none of the magnificent frescoes has been kept in situ. If You are not that interested in archeology, or You expect to find a heavily restored city like Knossos or Pompeji You might get disappointed and think it looks like a concrete-factory, so my advice is: Read as much as You can about ancient Akrotiri before You go there, or take a guided tour. At a very reduced price You can buy a 4-day-ticket valid for not only Akrotiri excavations but also the Archeological museum (very small and under renovation right now), Museum of prehistoric Thira (highly recommended before You visit the excavations!),Excavations of Ancient Thira on Mesa Vuono and The Museum of Icons and Ecclesiastical Relics of Pyrgos village

This was the highlight of our Santorini trip aside from our amazing Airbnb. George was punctual picking us up at our location in an air-conditioned minibus. Anastasia and Harris made this excursion totally worth it. They were knowledgeable, kind and attentive to whatever we ‘thought’ before even requesting (mind readers?? Lol) and asked if we wanted to play our own music leveraging Bluetooth. My husband went ‘live’ on Facebook while we were on board, so that says something about the WiFi! Swimming at red beach, swimming by the non-active volcano- two of us saw jellyfish swimming while snorkeling, dinner was perfect, and the unlimited water, beer, and wine was the icing on the cake! We had a party of 6 and the boat all to ourselves (versus other boats we saw on the water with several different parties). We highly recommend this specific private catamaran! Crew makes a difference and if you’re wondering if the cost is worth it for a private catamaran versus a shared one- IT IS WORTH IT! ????

First of all, it’s all about the crew. George is an exceptional highly experienced captain and skipper. He puts safety and comfort of his guests first! We learned from him a lot about the island/volcano, greek love stories and about sailing. It was a lot of fun, also because he is one of the very few that actually does some sailing on the trip, while almost all other yachts don’t show their sails at all. It’s just much more quiet & romantic than motorboat all the time (engine noise). And there is Ina, when somebody is smiling so beautiful while serving beer & wine, how could you not smile back :-))) Later, Ina cooked for us a fresh and super delicious dinner on the boat! Check out the photo! We liked that George took a different route than most other boats. In the end, we visited the same places like others, but we were not sailing with the “sunset-sailing”-crowd. The yacht is a beautiful 45ft Bavaria sailboat, equipped with deck mattresses, a toilet and a big spray hood providing shadow. Where we stopped for swimming, they provided us with goggles and towels. It was just an amazing day and worth every cent! THANK YOU!

We booked a full day 9 hour cruise for our family of 6 adults and it was the highlight of our Santorini holiday! The trip was tailored to suit our requests, Panos the skipper was amazing, making sure we were safe when on board and in the water and provided local knowledge and history of the places we visited. Yanis treated us like royalty filling our glasses with wine and water, helping us in and out of the boat and making sure we were all pampered! The boat is large enough to comfortably take 6 adults and we had full use of it. The food served was delicious and freshly made. We went snorkelling, walked up the volcano at our request, swam in the hot springs, saw all the local sights Red Bay, White Bay and saw the best Santorini sunset together as a family from the boat. I would definitely recommend the trip to anyone. Thank you for such a wonderful day!
