There's more green space than urban sprawl in the festival-friendly city, home to Europe's largest zoo and botanic garden combo, the Wilhelma. The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice. The stops mentioned under "Itinerary" are possible destinations of our tour. I am more than happy to compose an individual tour, which is based entirely on your preferences and wishes. I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time. You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.

Inclusions: WiFi on board, Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle, Parking Fees, Soda/Pop, Bottled water, Coffee and/or Tea

Exclusions: Travel exceeding the mileage allotment of 20 kilometers per hour will be charged with 1.00 € per kilometer.

If you want to visit the homeland of your ancestors, Manfred Pitz is the man for the job! We were in Germany in April 2019 while on a Viking river cruise. While others in our group visited Heidelberg, my husband and I hired Manfred to take us to the Palatinate to see the town where my great-great grandparents lived before moving to the US. Manfred was able to locate the minister of the church were my ancestors were married, and we were able to tour the church, which normally is locked on weekdays. He contacted distant relatives who operate a restaurant that carries my family name, and arranged for a private lunch for us. My distant relatives do not speak or read English, and Manfred served as translator throughout our visit. (Manfred has lived and worked in the United States, and his English skills are excellent.) Thanks to Manfred, our visit was the most memorable part of our vacation. The name of his company, "A Friend in Heidelberg" says it all. He is more than a chauffeur. He is more than a tour guide. He is the consummate professional and a dear and true friend.

Absolute Best Experience while in Europe! After much research, my family booked this tour with Stefan before we left the United States. You never know quite what to expect doing this, but I am SO GLAD we did! Even before the date of the tour, we received communication from Stefan concerning our itinerary and what to expect. Stefan arrived ahead of time at our hotel in Munich, and greeted us with a huge smile, extremely clean automobile, and fresh, cold water for all! He was so open to creating an experience that would fulfill our wishes. Our goal was to not only see Neuschwanstein, but also the local, surrounding communities, traditions, and food. Stefan really delivered! His personal knowledge of the area was incredible. We were able to see Oberammergau, the location of the beautiful Passion Play, as well as the stunning frescos in the village. Stefan also took us to the majestic Ettal Monastery, as well as Wieskirche, the Pilgrimage Church of Wies, all while viewing the gorgeous Alps in the distance. As if this weren't enough to fulfill our day, we headed to Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle, and the surrounding village. It was all so amazing, that our family will never forget the experience! Stefan shared his beautiful home country, while allowing us to select what we would like to experience the most! I wanted to have a picnic this day, near the castle, as a memory we would have forever. Ultimately, Stefan made it happen! We had a wonderful bottle of wine, glasses for all, and Stefan produced local delicacies that we had never had. It was such an amazing closure to a beautiful adventure in Bavaria. As we headed back to our hotel in Munich, Stefan filled the car with polkas, singing, and great, lasting cheer that has sustained us through these trying times of no travel with COVID. We miss our travels, and we will most definitely return to more tours and adventures with Stefan! Thank you for such wonderful memories!
