My trip to Lake Khuvsgol, the 14 days Horsetrekking in the Montains close to the lake was really well organized, my translater and cook made me feel secure and was an excellent company. With the Horseguides I could imagine to ride up to Mount Everest and back and still be safe and healthy. They were wonderful! After the Horsetrekking, my trip went on to the West of Mongolia, the Altai- Region. The vaste beauty of the land and of the skyes is still present in my memories. The Jeepride was comfortable and safe, the encounters with nomads, relatives of the driver and friends of the translator were interesting and Open-hearted. And last, but not least my visits at Shamans Places were utterly helpful to understand parts of the Mongolian Shamanism. Thank you for wonderful 6 weeks of beauty, safety and security!

My hat off to Muugi, the hostel manager for the top service and exquisite atmosphere of the place. I will keep fond memories of the days spent in this guesthouse. I received invaluable help from her in all aspects of the trip to Mongolia. She goes well beyond her call of duty to help and advise. This little gem of a place was the key to a fantastic holiday.

4. Naadam Festival 8 days and Khuvsgul Lake, Reindeer, Nomadic family
Naadam is traditional festival in Mongolia. The festival is also locally termed "eriin gurvan naadam" mean "The three games of men". The games are Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery and are held throughout the country during the midsummer holidays. Women have started participating in the archery and girls in the horse-racing games, but not in Mongolian wrestling. In 2010, Naadam was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. The main attraction of Naadam festival is opening ceremony and tickets are limited. Khuvsgul lake is dark, blue pearl and Darkhad valley - there are over 200 lakes surrounded by high mountains covered with forest and extensive marshland , which is a home of reindeer people- Tsaatan ethnic minority. 5. Winter Wonderland, The Taiga
Taiga is a winter wonderland in Mongolia, where one of the most interesting ethnic groups living near the lake is the Tsaatan or as they are better known – ‘The Reindeer People’. A small tribe of Tsaatan consisting of about 40 families lives with its herds of reindeer in the forests around the lake. These graceful animals provide the tribe with all its basic needs - milk, transportation, meat, skins and bones and antlers used as building materials and for tools.

Both guide and driver have proofen excellent organizational, driving, translating skills and made everytjing possible. One night for example was really cold so they spontanipusly organized a warmer place for the next day. A lot was organized according to the situation which gave maximum flexibility. We visited places which are not usually on the tourists list as for example a coal mine. I was never pressured to hurry up or and still everything worked out because the dtiver was so well connected with the locals. And of course... the sights I saw where amazing.

8. The Shaman Kingdom of the Mongols
Prior to the 15th century, the ruling religion of Mongolia was that of the great blue sky – “hoh tenger”. This system of traditional beliefs and practices, known in the west as Shamanism, is based on the idea that the visible world is full of invisible forces or spirits. The shaman as intermediary between the natural and spiritual world, communicates with the spirits of water, wind, fire, trees, the moon and so on, for assistance in healing, hunting or changing the weather. The healers of the Buu, as it is known in Mongolia today, are still performing these peculiar rituals. On this special trip we will take you into this secret world, to see the healer call the spirits into his body and grant him the power to heal and see the future.

10. 10 Days EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF NORTHERN MONGOLIA
General description Khuvsgul, the largest freshwater lake located in the northern part is considered as a Blue Pearl of vast Mongolia. The area covered with pine and larch forest, rolling hills and high towering rocky mounts adds nuance to pristine crystal clear water of the locally respected Mother Sea perfectly matching the name Mongolian Switzerland. Northern Mongolia is also home of several ethnic groups such as Darkhad and Tuvan people or likewise known as Dukhan Reindeer people. For those Dukhans reindeers are the main source of their living and culture and they still continue living in their tepees.

I really had high expectations with this tour and also after seeing all the good review. We joined the tour and we had to share the facilities with the other tour people We expected to do a few things in the tour but it didn't end up well - Amarbayasgalant monastery & Ghengis Khan complex --> no we did not go. (if winter driving is harsh, just don't include this in the itinerary) - horse riding - No horse by the period we went to the area. mainly Khuvsgul lake. Nothing we could do there - Most disappointed of all - Reindeers ! No reindeers in the reindeer herders! Due to the season again, they only kept 1 reindeer. Just one We wanted to go there for the experience and seeing how the family interacts with the reindeers. Not just taking turn riding 1 reindeer - we were asked to pay to the another family for seeing more reindeers.. but not like the experience we expected what they mentioned Observe, learn and experience lifestyle of those people and assist them in their daily activities · Options for joining reindeer herding. · In the evening by the fire, listen and learn their stories, legends and songs. Meet tribal shamans and ask for your future fortune None were fulfilled we asked for accommodation details many times but also never got the right feedback. Say we requested a separate stay but never got it addressed. I think at least they should answer no before hand
