University of Mary Hardin Baylor

Been here before. We were here to support Belhaven University baseball. UMHB was the host. The parking lot, field, grounds, concession stand and restrooms were all perfectly clean and in good working order. The seating at the field has three sections of stadium seats. They are comfortable and clean. The whole area is clean, no trash, spills or unsightly mess. The concession stand has Gatorade, sodas, water, candy, popcorn, hot dogs and pretzels. It was all good according to my family and friends in attendance. The sound system is fantastic. They play good music ranging from oldies, pop and country. They honored first responders during 7th inning stretch. Both teams and their fans gave standing ovation. Before the game one day the first pitch was thrown out by a veteran, the team wore red, and blue shoestrings and white pants in a show of support. The next day a young girl struggling with the effects of a debilitating disease threw out the first pitch. Before she went out the Belhaven Head coach and several of his players spoke with her and gave her lots of attention. The UMHB coach and captains did as well as she stepped up to throw the pitch. Very good atmosphere. The teams competed well and were complimented by both sides fans for effort and plays. UMHB has always done a good job of presenting teams that play competitively and represent the schools philosophy and Christian tenets. Kudos go out to them.

The Galleria

More than 26 million visitors each year seek the dynamic & fine shopping environment uniquely offered by The Galleria, Texas’ largest shopping center and fourth largest domain nationally. International guests and Houstonians blend seamlessly in the center while on shopping excursions or entertaining guests at one of the signature eateries. Spanning 2.4 million square feet of space, housing 400 fine stores and restaurants, two high-rise hotels, and three office towers, The Galleria is Houston’s most popular retail and tourist destination, meeting every style and taste.

This is the epicenter of shopping, walking and people watching in Houston. From great shopping, high end art galleries to ice skating, the Galleria is a great place to see and visit. Due to its popularity, the parking lots fill up quickly, especially in the holiday season. Get there as early as you can and preferably right before it opens to get a good parking spot. The Metro bus# 82 goes east and west by the Galleria and connects to many other bus lines around Houston. This is a must see and visit place in Houston and I highly recommend it,

South Congress Avenue

Street lined with lots of great restaurants.

Reviewed By Laur6767

I experienced south congress during both the day and night, and thoroughly enjoyed both times. During the day, we walked the streets and had fun shopping, eating, and soaking in the sights. The street has a pretty view of downtown Austin, lots of fun street performers and musicians, and stores, but feels very safe and clean. The restaurants and shops nearby ranged from very cheap to very high-end, so there's something for everyone. At night, we went back to check out the Continental Club. It was such a fun, unique experience and we even met some very friendly locals inside. One told us that South Congress is the moreso "weird" Austin (aka - in her purview - the one worth seeing!) and we had loads of fun getting her two-cents on the city. Both day and night felt safe and fun, and I would highly recommend to get a sense of the atmosphere of Austin.

We took a bus tour that included a 2-hour stop. We had a wonder BBQ lunch. We enjoyed walking the streets in the beautiful sunshine. We loved the blooming flowers, benches, shade trees and the fabulous old buildings. Shopping opportunities are diverse, interesting and unique. Shop owners are gracious, friendly and helpful; eager to share a little history and knowledge if you take a minute. My friend and I will return with our husbands and probably check into a hotel for a night or two. We must have more time to try restaurants, experience local history and SHOP!

Bought a City Pass which saves you money on all the places of interest. No queues on the day we visited, handbags checked on entry. Can take as long as you like viewing the sites, and sitting in the geo-deck, where you can buy refreshments, the floor moves around very gently/slowly so you can see full circle view as you relax. Need to wait to be taken up/down in the lift. Busy times will mean lots of queuing/waiting no doubt.
