Bowen Park is a very large centrally located expanse of land in the heart of Nanaimo, BC. There are many recreational buildings on the property, including a pool. The Millstone River runs through the entire park. A lovely waterfall is located close to a convenient parking area. In the winter and spring, the waterfall provides a wonderful and nearby opportunity for long exposure photography. It's a great way to perfect your techniques, learn about using filters and manual mode photography.

We stayed at the nearby RV Park for a week and walked this park many times. Such a great use of the land. Level, mostly paved walkways, excellent for a mobility scooter.

This little park is awesome!! We hosted a small birthday party for my son there (12 family members) and it worked out perfectly! There is a walking/biking path around the perimeter, a large green space that we played frisbee, a play structure for the kids, tennis courts, and nice little picnic shelter with two picnic tables. The whole place was clean and well maintained and there was even a beautiful driftwood mural to look at!
