A miniature railway running for over half a mile in a lovely recently restored park. Rides are only £1 per person. We also have three special events where some rides are free. Check our webpage or facebook site (Thompsonparkrailway). A new car park should open soon from Colne Road.

We had our little boys 6th birthday party on the railway yesterday. It was absolutely fantastic. The volunteers did a smashing job and made sure everyone had a blast. I can't recommend the experience high enough. All the guests had a great time, and it was something different in terms of a party. Give it a go, you won't regret it!

Brilliant little children’s indoor play area! Plenty of interesting slides, climbs and ball pits. Ultra clean, great loos and everything homemade in the cafe. It’s been designed so you can see right through it so your kids don’t lose each other and you can see them whilst having a cuppa. Great menu for parents as well as kids. Well done whoever started this enterprise! My grandchildren age 5 and 2.5 loved it!

I regularly take my great grandchildren for a couple of hours...they absolutely love it...there is a huge play area with a curly slide and a long one as well, and also a football play area for a kick about with a ball..there is also a small area for under 3's, This last weekend our 7 year old Gt grandson had his birthday party in one of the themed rooms and he had a great time with his friends...he was the King of the Castle for a couple of hours...It is a very busy popular place and your time is limited to 2 hours if it is busy...I have a job to get our little ones out so 2 hours flies by !!! we always make use of the cafe and the meals are quickly served...nothing fancy ...pizza, chicken nuggets, beans, chips and sandwiches...always something tempting on the special board...

It is a community centre with excellent playground, ball park, floodlit state-of-the art skatepark, boules and picnic facilities open all day throughout the year. Also an indoor hall and meeting rooms which can be hired. We have a friendly coffee shop open every afternoon, and from 10am to 5pm in school holidays and weekends. Wide range of items on sale, including home made cakes, sandwiches and ice creams. Just off the Lancaster to Caton cycle track (which is part of the Way of the Roses cycle from Morecambe to Bridlington) and near lovely Lune Valley walks.

The centre cafe has a selection of drinks and snacks (sandwiches, panini's, chips, beans on toast etc). Everything is outstandingly cheap, and the service is great. There's also a lovely little playground next to it.

Lowther Gardens is so relaxing reminds me of my childhood, sitting with my mother and father, in the 1950s, eating real ice cream, watch my father play bowls, my mother talking with friendly people she had never met. flower beds blooming in a lush of colours, happy smiling faces watching the world go by, what a nice way to spend an hour or two. try it you will enjoy.

Queen Elizabeth II Park View Playing Fields

Reviewed By polyksena - Preston, United Kingdom

The park is huge with many different zones - the sand and water area is probably the best with both fun and educational equipment, toddler play area, teen play area, skate area, playgrounds, a garden with flowers and various plants. There is plenty of room to play around even when it is very crowded on hot weekend days. What a great idea to create such a park for children and the whole family.

Clip 'n Climb Blackpool

Reviewed By stevenb108 - Oldham, United Kingdom

Usual grandparents visit,we fancied doing something a little different to pass some time, after a friends recommendation. After a quick phone call to Clip & Climb they asked if we could pick the day & book the session & time that we wanted, this was easy enough, but a dad mistake,i phoned again, this was sorted & a confirmation email sent..all ok. We arrived in plenty of time before our time slot of midday, read the terms & conditions, signed our lives away & made our way upstairs to the cafe area to sus out what we were about to undertake.. Myself & my two daughters, aged 10 & 7yr olds were almost ready,we were fitted with our harness & then asked to watch the compulsory safety video.. Now we were ready to climb, variety of different walls, all having a different challenge of how to climb them. This was our first time doing anything like this, the staff are on hand all the way throughout the session, helping & encouraging you as you go,one girl helping my daughter to climb the free standing poles(thank you). I think i managed most of the walls & having more than one go on most, only being defeated by one...next time?!!. Overall, nice place, great friendly staff, clean, didn't try the cafe but the wife did,no complaints..the girls already want to know when were going again,we'll be back..

Anchorsholme Park

Reviewed By safcjade - Sunderland, United Kingdom

This park is amazing highly recommend it to families with children. We visited Blackpool for 3 days and managed to squeeze this park in twice as our little girl loved it so much. It’s recently refurbished and only just opened after lockdown so all new and modern including brand new cafe. There are so many interactive points in the park including many musical instruments, and a handle which you can turn and it sings nursery rhymes. The pirate ship steering wheel also makes sounds as does the big interactive arch. There are many slides coming off the boat suitable for different ages and it’s just overall amazing.
