The Dog House Blues Tea Room

Reviewed By ChaperoneVIP

We dropped in to this quite interesting looking pub and restaurant for lunch during a quiet mid week day and to say I will never set foot in the place again is the understatement of the millennium.Every single thing was beyond poor, the rattley uncomfortable chairs should have been a warning sign as to the pure dogs dinner of a dining experience that was to follow. Don't get me wrong, my expectations were set at a very reasonable level as this place was clearly trying to portray a cook stylish jazzy vibe but what we were served up was an absolute shocker,, especially as we waited forever for it to come out of the kitchen. The staffs hearts were just not in it and this must come from the top. To actually think it was ok for us to wait that length of time for food without any update and then the absolute approximately named dogs dinner that was served to us in all its Glory. Absolutely shocked that an apparently viable business could be so bad. Makes me think I could make a go of being a chef myself without a days training. We got soup and wings for starters which we are but we're big standard, inferior to what you could make yourself after a trip to Aldi. For mains we all had a different option, all if which were totally below what you expect to see coming out of a professional kitchen. The Shepard's pie was too bad that I cannot do it justice in words, how they could serve it to a paying customer was a shock to all 3 of us. Then came the fish, which looked like something out of a joke shop as in made of rubber. Then came my pizza which at that stage out appetites were all completely gone and we left. Paying 29 euro for a few cans of coke, bad wings and 2 cold bowls of veg soup. At least in Mountjoy prison you'd probably get hot soup even. We went over to Burdock's across the road and spent 40 euro. That's all you need to know. If you go here after reading this it's your own fault, loads of options in Howth other than a dogs dinner. Fuming I even paid for the starters but I didn't want the staff to get in trouble. As much as it was all poxy including the service, I'm sure such a big problem comes from the top. So just to be clear, avoid!

Lali's is a decent restaurent for simple and tasty italian food. It's reliabe, inexpensive, and has a very relaxed ambiance. If you're a local you always meet someone you know! It's right beside the velvet strand and has the feeling of a beachy restaurant. I do feel they should try to change the menu around a bit. The early bird (which i enevitably go for) hasn't changed in years. Presentation could do with a little work too (food, decor and staff) but i always go away happy.

Lovely family dining experience. Plenty of choice to suit all ages, youngest in our group was 10 and eldest was in their 80's. All had plenty to eat and we were provided with boxes to bring home uneaten food. A little on the expensive side.

Very nice restaurant. Looks like it’s fairly new or recently remodeled. We stayed at the Croke hotel and this restaurant was within walking distance so we decided to check it out. They asked if we had reservations and we told them no, but they were able to get us in. We had a 4 cheese pizza. I believe it’s a fire cooked pizza. I thought the edges would be crispy like the menu stated and soft in the center but it was soft all over and a little under cooked in the middle. The taste was good. I am a fairly picky eater so was afraid to try the meat pizzas. If you like Italian food I would definitely tell you to try it. They bring out a little purse with your bill...first time to ever see that Hi Karen,Thank you very much for your 4star review!!Your feedback is very much appreciated from us all here at Wallace's Asti, we do our best to offer an authentic Italian pizza made with products imported directly from Italy. We hope you had a pleasant time in Dublin and we all hope to see you again very soon!Alessandro

We were recommended by our friends to have some Brezzi's Wood Fired Pizza on our recent visit to Dublin. The crispy crust with the melted cheese on the Margherita pizza was fabulous with the added touch of fresh basil. We also ordered the Prawns & Avocado Pizza which was only available on the weekends- again no regrets! Our favourite starter- Roasted Chicken Wings were so finger licking good with the spicy dip. Will definitely order again if we are back. Simply the best pizzas we ever tasted!
