We were fortunate our 8th return to this restaurant was on Saturday 10 June 2016 when three finalists battled it out on national TV for best pizza maker in Italy. Grotta Azzurra put up a big screen and their own Cristian was the winnerâ¦. we celebrated Italian style until the small hours of the morning. There is a whole special separate menu of all the dozen or so pizzas that have won first or second place awards in local and in international competitions.The Spaghetti Alla Grotta comes under a baked crust which is cracked open and removed at the table, liberating the most wonderful aromas.The fish of the day baked under salt is exquisite. The waiter will dig it out of its crust and fillet it at your table.The mixed fish platters remain a favourite of ours be they grilled, fried or simply salted.Extremely popular with the locals so booking is a must.Fast and exceptionally attentive service even when brimming full with customers and a takeout pizza queue out the door.Well worth the one hour drive from Milan or Como, or a detour on the way to or from the Alps.

We thoroughly enjoyed the pizza at Stramania. There is a huge menu. The pizzas are well priced, we ordered one per person and left very full with a small amount left over. Worth the trip. Kitchen closes between 2-7 pm so not the place for a late lunch.

It has been almost 10 years I left Italy. I came here a lot with my colleagues and enjoyed the food during lunch time and the hospitality of the staff was always excellent. Especially Michele,the waiter, who I can not forget, such a friendly man. Hat's off to the friendly owners too. Cheers!

Merate has very few choices when it comes to food delivery but Ramses is changing thatâs fast! They deliver fast and the food is always hot, fresh and damn delicious! The delivery boy is ever smiling and polite. I highly recommend everyone to try the pizzas and kebabs from this place all east once. Please note that this place is Egyptian and not Turkish. The taste is wayyyy better than the latter!

The restaurant is in a not really happy position and it's not really inviting you from outside .... the position is not granting you a good panorama BUTthe service is excellent, waiters are really nice and kind, here the words "at your service" have really a meaning. they are also very well organized and quick in serving and reacting to customers requests. I was there with some english friends and the waiters were helping .... in top the menu is in italian and english language.the food is really goods, very high quality ingredients and very well cooked. pizza menu has a lot of choices, ok for vegetarian and for vegan as well. you can ask also for white pizza.the menu a la carte is full of opportunities and with lot of interesting choices: pistachio risotto or steak i had a steak with artichokes and it was amazing we had also a Fritto Misto, it was very well cooked, crispy out and sweet and soft inside.there are some home made dessert very good ... i would suggest the tiramisu, a never ending classic in italy and here it's well done.whine list long and with lot of choices with also the possibility to have a glass of local wines produced in Montevecchia overall i could say that this restaurant could be a 5 stars ... it's a pity the location.

Nulla da aggiungere, è una delle pizze alte più buone che io abbia mai mangiato. Morbida, sugo saporito, ingredienti pure.La prendo da asporto e a casa è ancora perfetta.

This is a great spot to have a fast simple lunch in a typicall small italian town between lecco and milan.From outside you would not stop. But insider friendly fast cheap and full with locals...And all this locals can not be wrong. Pizza and desserts are fantastic.3 persons with softdrinks and wine 39â¬Unbeatable !!!!

Beef, beef and again beef. It serves beef from all over the world. Sold by the Kilo.Grilled on charcoal open fire, served as you like it, rare, with a hot plate so you can finish the cooking on the table. We were four and finishe of 2.9 KGS of T-Bone prime Angus beef.....brilliant. All washed dow by 2 bottles of Dolcetto d'Alba and digested with local Grappa. An incredible experience!
