Located on a beautiful square sitting atop the old town of Mondovi, this restaurant-cum-pizzeria is one of the most popular among locals for a casual family dinner or a cosy dining place for couples. Sitting outdoor will be a delight itself with the beautiful facade of buildings around the square. We have eaten there twice as the menu looked very attracted the first time we ate there. The roast turkey sounds simple but it was tender and full of delicate flavour. Do try their local pasta made with fresh eggs. Also not to miss is the trio of antipasti which includes a "panna cotta" style of celery root with the Piedmontese Bagna cà uda sauce. The wine list includes good producers of local wines like Arneis and Dolcetto, not as expensively famous as Barbaresco or Barolo but simple and well made to be enjoyed with the dishes there.

La pizza è davvero buona ed economica, il servizio veloce e i ragazzi GENTILISSIMISSIMI! Per me e il mio ragazzo è sempre un piacere andare a prendere la pizza qui! Lavorano bene, sono cortesi, puliti e la pizza speciale! Grazie mille e continuate così!!

Ci siamo stati un paio di volte, a pranzo e a cena, all'interno del circolo con piscina e campi da tennis. Molto accogliente il personale e gradevole l'atmosfera, buoni i primi disponibili a pranzo e le cozze e la paella presi per cena. Prezzo contenuto.

Probably if this place was not in the city center was already close, we've been here this summer me , my girlfriend and a friend, I took them to take an "aperitivo" during our holiday in Italy. We took the drink (2 alcoholic and a cola) and the waiter he take us a little plate with the food (4 single piece to divide in 3 people), I told the waiter 23092067that probably there was an error and he told me that he was going to ask, after few minute where he don't ask nothing to noone (I was keeping an eyes on him) he returned and told me that the plate was for 2 people and walked away...After not more than 3 minute he take a "real" aperitivo plate to the table near us ,2 person with 2 little beer (the cola cost more than a beer), and he saw that I was looking at him doing his amazing job. I really not reccomend this place to any visitor.

We first visited La Gerla in 2011 on our very first trip to Italy. After that we visited every time we travelled to Mondovi and when we decided to move to the city in 2017 it became our 'regular'. We have tried many, many pizza restaurants in our time but this one is, in our view, the very best! The crispness of the base, delicious sauce and huge range of topping mean that we always end up coming back here. When we've been out of town a visit to La Gerla is the first thing we do to feel back at home!

There are quite a few panetteria selling good focaccia in this town and this cafe could count amongst one them. In fact it has more on it menu than focaccia and it has comfortable tables both indoors and outdoors. Don't miss their Genoese focaccia, a thin version of focaccia with white cheese filling - a star. We had a simple strongozzi with pesto and pine nuts and it was delicious, although slightly on the rich side. The chef makes a very tasty farina which compliment to our order. Service was very friendly. This is a place for simple and good food in a relaxed atmosphere. bite or a leisurely lunch.

Having had quite a bit of rich food this week we decided to give our digestive systems a rest and went to La Piemontese Trattoria just up the street where we just managed, in our atrocious Italian, to order two take away pizzas. It was amazing to watch these being prepared and then cooked in a wood fired oven while being able to look out over the rooftops towards the stunning countryside. Washed down with Piemonte Dolcetto the pizzas were wonderful. The menu in the restaurant looked great for eating in too. Really nice atmosphere.It is superb value as it seems to cater mostly for local trade.

I'm sorry but this restaurant is very over rated! OK to have a short menu list for the restaurant when it is actually a pizzeria but evrything was really simple and the ambient was very noisy! Definitely not a 4.5 score restaurant.Buongiorno,il nostro locale è una osteria-pizzeria con un menu glielo assicuro vastissimo oltre 50 tipi diversi di pizze tra bianche e rosse;menu alla carta con cucina casalinga che comprende naturalmente a scelta del cliente piu di dieci antipasti tipici cosi come i primi piatti con pasta fresca i.g.p con condimenti freschi fatti in casa (istant kitchen)almeno 5 portate.Per i secondi almeno sette-otto opportunita di scelta tra carni di vitello,pollo,tacchino,maiale .Dolci rigorosamente fatti in casa tra i quali spiccano quelli del nostro territorio bunet,panna cotta,torta di meleecc.ecc.Per il rumore beh il locale era strapieno se volevate una cena a lume di candela e magari spendere pochino potevate benissimo evitare di sceglierci grazie lo stesso.
