Max and his Italian / Khmer staff know how to make the guest feel at home. Be it pizza or pasta every dish is freshly made. There is a selection of good Italian wines plus a full bar. The location on Riverside is one of the best in Kampot. A must try for any visitors. Local expats love the place.

Arrived late after a grueling train ride from Phenom Penh, and didn't have the fortitude to venture out into a town we didn't know to find something to eat. So, even though we don't usually don't eat pizza when in Asia, we opted for a veggie pizza. While the pricing and service were both spot on, the taste of the pizza needed work. For example, they used canned mushrooms instead of fresh ones ... why not use whatever is fresh at the market? The cheese itself tasted odd and not like the kind of pizza you'd get in the states. They had mosquito coils throughout to keep the insects at bay, which we liked a lot more than fans blowing on our getting-cold food. Our only suggestion: Focus on improving that veggie pizza!

After three months of travel and eating mainly local food, I was craving Italian. This was the perfect place! Delicious pizza with thin crust and a great tiramisu! Would definitely come here again if I ever found myself in Kampot.

Spot in the Centre of Kampot with unique atmosphere great service and amazing food. Loved the seafood amok, the duck and the steak my son had looked great. We had the pizza, a bottle of wine, ravioli and a starter. The owner asked if we would like limoncello at the end when we finished meal, as would be traditional in a European restaurant, only problem was he stuck it on the bill for $7. I told him I wasnt paying for it and he accepted. Food was ok. His cleaner is the chef. He sits on Facebook as she cooks. yes, I remember you last night as I also remember that I did not argue with your pretense - even aggressive enough - of not paying 7 dollars for two limoncelli, even though -1-I didn't offer anything, I just asked if you wanted grappa, coffee, limoncello etc ... - 2- that European restaurants offer something at every meal is your bizarre idea, -3-the limoncello, as all Italian products are imported and cost a lot, having said that keep yourself the 7usd and gorged on my health. Also during your dinner we talked a little and at your request I told you among other things that the cook had been working with me for a little over two years and that she had started as a cleaner and that little by little I taught her things, I didn't tell you she's cleaning now ..... you understand what's best for you? ........ I can't find anything serious if you wanted dining in a restaurant with a star chef but this is not the place, I also saw that you enjoyed the cuisine of ex cleaner or not? here we are in Cambodia in Kampot that only recently is welcoming western tourists, "rank" cooks here there are not, honor to her who was able to learn the tastes and traditions of another country. Besides, besides being on FB, I sometimes wash the dishes, clean the toilets, wash on the floor, do the shopping and many other things that I suppose you don't look good from doing usually, I don't think I'm rude to your opposite that you are of an infinite presumption and arrogance.si, ricordo di voi ieri sera come ricordo anche che alla sua pretesa-anche abbastanza aggressiva- di non pagare 7 dollari per due limoncelli non mi sono messo a discutere, anche se -1-io non ho offerto nulla, ho solo chiesto se volevate grappe, caffeâ, limoncello ecc...-2- che i ristoranti Europei offrino qualcosa ad ogni pasto eâ una tua bizzarra idea, -3-il limoncello, come tutti i prodotti Italiani sono di importazione e costano molto, detto questo tieniti i 7usd e ingozzati alla mia salute.Inoltre durante la vostra cena abbiamo parlato un poâ e su tua richiesta ti ho raccontato tra le altre cose che la cuoca lavorava con me da poco piuâ di due anni e che aveva iniziato come cleaner e che piano piano le ho insegnato un poâdi cose, non ti ho detto che fa le pulizie adesso.....capisci cioâ che ti conviene forse?........non ci trovo nulla di grave, se volevate cenare in un locale con chef stellato non eâ questo il posto, inoltre ho visto che avete gradito la cucina della ex cleaner o no? qui siamo in Cambogia a Kampot che solo da poco sta accogliendo turisti occidentali cuoche o cuochi di ârangoâ qui non ce sono, onore a lei che eâ riuscita ad imparare dei gusti e delle tradizioni di un altro paese. Inoltre, oltre a stare su FB, a volte lavo i piatti, pulisco i cessi, lavo per terra, faccio la spesa e tante altre cose che suppongo tu ti guardi bene dal fare di solito, non penso di essere rude al tuo contrario che sei di una presunzione infinita.

We came down here just after our rainy descent from Bokor Mountain.Tasteful food made at home. Something different then the usual restaurant.Very pleased with the food and the friendly owners.Luckily places like this exist so we can get now and then REAL TASTY non-MSG food.See you again next time when we pass through Kampot area!

We really enjoyed the stay at simple things restaurant. It was no problem to get a table without any reservation. Every meal we had was delicious. Free water!! And also some card games which we played before our food was served. Sometimes the music was a bit too loud, but I would recommend this place in case you really like veggie/vegan food !
