Top 10 Northern-Italian food in Sanremo, Liguria, Italy

December 14, 2019 Sachiko Swiger

Find out what Northern-Italian restaurants to try in Sanremo. With a comfortable climate that varies little throughout the year, Sanremo has been a favored tourist destination since the mid-1700s, attracting visitors from all over Europe, including heavy contingents of Russian and British aristocracy. For many, the long stretch of beach is the main attraction, but don’t miss the impressive casino or the hillside medieval section of town called La Pigna. Every year since 1951, the city has hosted Italy’s popular Sanremo Music Festival.

3 meals arrived and were finished before the 3 risottos even arrived... No apology, no offer of discount, not very impressed after some superb food elsewhere in SanRemo...Sadly couldn’t recommend,Maybe an off night for the chef and team, but no recognition of food arriving very late whatsoever...

I have had lunch here 3 times in the last couple of months. Each time, I have received a friendly service and a small glass of prosecco as an aperitif. Great olive oil and bread. Lovely dishes - fresh, homemade and delicious. The menu is only in Italian, and for lunch I only saw local people coming here. Great! I haven't tried the pizza yet- as it's only served for dinner. You can easily reach the restaurant if you take the bike path - a small detour to Bussana beach will get you there. Only negative: the restaurant is situated on a small street with a little bit of traffic - and has only very little outside space. If you like orange - it's a plus :-)

My wife and I spent two nights in Sanremo and had dinner at this restaurant both nights. My wife is not a fish lover, and most of the higher-rated restaurants we looked into seemed to feature seafood almost exclusively. This place had a variety of simple home style dishes, including salads, and nice house wines by the carafe. Not fancy. Mostly frequented by locals.

Had the pleasure of dining here for lunch with family & friends, and not much talking happened because our mouths were full of delicious food & drink! Wine and limoncello are a must to get here.I opted for fresh fish and appreciated the elegant presentation, as it was de-boned for me upon service.Italian fare was also enjoyed by my fellow diners, two of which were kids, who also thoroughly liked this tasty afternoon dining experience. Thank you Melissa! for us it's the best satisfaction to read your review.... we are very happy to have offered to you and your family and friends a pleasant moment and superior experiencesee you soon I hope!!!best regards

This restaurant reflects the owner's passion for sharing Ligurian cuisine. Their restaurant captures local traditions and culture. Their recipes are the result of research into the public archives to unearth honest simple and delicious recipes to prepare dishes that have lasted the test of time. It's a three person operation: Margarita is in the kitchen, Noel and HIS HUGE SMILE, are out front, and Stefano keeps the tables happy. We counted room for 20 guests. Part of their passion stems from the fact that both Noewl and Margarita were active professionals who chucked in corporate life to live their dream. Noel was a graphic designer; Margritta was an accountant, a bean counter! All produce is fresh and local. The extra virgin olive oil they serve comes from their trees. We live in the south of France and we have our own trees. Their oil is better than ours. From quick fried boned sardines to a lovely pappardelle dish with baby courgettes and a hint of rabbit sausage...my wife said the pasta was "lighter than an angel's kiss" we could not have been more satisfied. We drank two wines from the Genoa area: a lovely little blanchetta and a red sauvignon. Both were superb. Noel's philosophy of how to run a restaurant is moving: the first impression must be that the guest feels welcome. Everything from the excellent cuisine to the service makes the guest feel welcome. After dinner Noel walked us outside and I gave him a bear hug. He deserved it. We will be back. The prices are ridiculously reasonable. Whitebeard83.

NIce place in the old town of Bordighera. We had lunch on the terrace with a view out over the old town to the sea. Relaxing and sunny. Nice choices on the menu that was translated by the wait staff - very helpful. I had the Coniglio alla Ligure and my wife had ravioli. The rabbit was excellent and surprisingly presented like a large pot pie. My wife's ravioli she thought was over done and reheated. Dessert was excellent as was the house wine. Very reasonably priced at Euros 55. Service was good although the orders were switched but we easily switched plates!!Overall worth the visit.
