Northwest (Nob Hill)

A grocer from San Francisco opened a store on NW 23rd over a hundred years ago and named it after the uppercrust S.F. neighborhood.

Plenty of nice little boutiques. The southern end of 23rd avenue has big name shops but the northern and has the boutiques. From clothes to shoes to books to paraphernalia. Interspersed with the boutiques are plenty of dining and drinking options. A nice way to spend a few hours with people you care about.

Multnomah Village

Reviewed By margaretcov - Portland, United States

A charming village with unique shops and restaurants. A few empty spots but new ones coming soon. It is a delightful place to stroll with friendly people and lots of dogs (some of the stores actually invite in well-behaved ones). And, don't forget the side streets such as the food carts in the French Quarter with two more delicious places across the street - Marcos and Grand Central Bakery. And for those who like the chains, to the east on Capitol Highway you will find a Starbucks, Blue Donuts and Little Big Burger. The locals love the place, especially on first Friday when the stores are open later, serving treats and beverages plus 10% off purchases.

Alberta Street

Reviewed By brmusicman - Chicago, United States

We visited Portland in October 2020 and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. The Alberta Arts District emerged as one of our favorites; we enjoyed the many local business on Alberta Avenue, including some great art stores and home stores. Lots of good coffee available, too. The street art on the sides of several buildings was compelling and offered wonderful messages of social justice and compelling photo opportunities. This neighborhood is definitely worth a few hours when visiting Portland!
