Fish Point Nature Reserve

Reviewed By JorgeSamosa - Ottawa, Canada

If you're going to go to the trouble of going to Pelee Island and you're Canadian you might as well go here just to say you've been to the Southernmost most inhabited place in Canada. It's a nice leisurely bike ride (rentals available at Comfortech Bike Rentals near where the ship docks from 12 to 2pm) to the wooded entrance and then about a 1.5 km hike through the Nature Reserve and then some beach to get to the southernmost point. There's different things to see in the woods. As for the Southernmost point, ignore some of the complaints of people writing before me. It all depends when you go. I went on a warm (23 C, 73F) mid September day. I wasn't bothered by flies or bugs (I didn't even need spray and suffered no bites) and the water wasn't so high that you couldn't walk to the tip of the island. There was probably over 100 Seagulls just sitting down and hanging out at the point. People are so dumb - they act as if the conditions when they went are what it's like all the time. So just go if you're visiting the island.

Hillman Marsh Conservation Area

Reviewed By rebeccamaier - Kitchener, Canada

Came to hillman marsh on our first day of visiting Leamington and saw over 100 birds, many swallows, and shorebirds. A juvenile Bald Eagle swooped down over the water, many orioles, eastern kingbirds and a great view and boardwalk.
