A beautiful valley in the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites. The main attractions are the homonymous Lake, the alpine Botanic Garden, the "Soffia" waterfall, the "Cadini del Brenton" (impressive glacial potholes) and the many torrents that flow into the lake. The area is also interesting for the abandoned town of Gena Alta, an interesting example of alpine settlement. In the Pian Falcina area there is a bar area with tables, games for children, camper pitches, barbecue and bungalows for rent. The area of Pian Falcina is renowned for picnics and as ideal starting point for excursions in the Mis Valley. In Pian Falcina you can get information about the National Park and the best trails to explore the area. At Pian Falcina and at Cadini of Brenton, during the summer weekends, you can join some guided tours, often free, suitable for all ages. Through Pian Falcina area you can also reach the lake with canoes. To reach the valley, when in Sospirolo please follow the brown signs "Valle del Mis" (SP2)!

The Brent was a wonderful little hike. It can be done as a point to point or as a four mile loop. It was very interesting to see and I walked the 4-mile loop which takes you around the canyon and back to the parking lot. At the trail head is a kiosk where you can get something to drink or food. However, it was closed when I went due to COVID. If you are around the area and have time, you have to do at least the point to point.
