Booked the Bagon Falls Canyoning trip with Joni at Trexplore.ph. Joni was a great guide and the guys he had assisting him were awesome. They carried all the gear along the trail up to the canyoning part of the trip. This is where we repelled down the first water fall. Each falls were different. Some falls we had to jump off of int the water below. One falls was around 10 meters high...Wow. No worries though you have head gear and a life jacket. The whole trip was exhilarating and fun. I had not done anything like in many years, I am 53 by the way, so anyone can do this adventure. Definitely recommend booking this with Joni at Trexplore.ph. Don't worry about photos, Joni has you you covered.

We are a family of 4 (children ages 8 & 12) and we went for a 2 days trip to Lobo Cave with Joni@trexplore. Everything related to these 2 days was amazing and fun - the hike to and from the cave, exploring the cave itself with its beautiful interior (including an underground river, waterfalls and much more), camping, excellent food and evenly important Joni’s professional and knowledgeable guidance! Both us and the children had a wonderful time. An additional bonus, for whoever is interested, is Joni’s homestay in Catbalogan. Staying with Joni’s family and their outstanding hospitality was a great experience and we enjoyed talking, eating and cooking together. It felt like home :-) If you like to stir away from the crowds and get off the beaten track, i would highly recommend Joni and Trexplore - there are many adventurous and interesting things to do (you can check on Trexplore’s excellent website)

I’ve been caving in a dozen different countries around the world and I can honestly say that Langun-Gobingob is one of the best caves I’ve ever been to. So yeah, you should go… And if you do plan on going to this cave, or any cave in Samar for that matter, the person to contact is Joni Bonifacio. Joni is thee go-to guy when it comes to caving in Samar. Both he and his employees are very professional, they’ll organise everything and make an extra effort to make the trip as fun as possible. On his company’s website (Trexplore.ph) you can read full details about what’s involved in a trip to this cave and the prices and details of all the various trips he organises. For me the highlight of the trip was reaching the second entrance to the cave (where we would camp for the night) and watching the massive swam of bats as they left the cave to go feeding for the night. It was a truly remarkable sight! If I find myself back in Samar I’ll definitely be getting in touch with Joni again to organise more trips and explore more of Samar’s amazing caves with him.
