Scenic views and some nice easy going hiking, definitely recommend stopping by! Went with some family and friends, spend a good portion of the afternoon at the park. Ate some lunch on the river rocks, seems like a pretty clean park overall as well.

Yetter Park

Reviewed By 3ljp - Kingston, United States

Yetter Park is a great park in East Stroudsburg Pa. It's very well kept and has a lot to offer. They have an awesome 18 hole disc golf course with a warm up area and practice basket. They also have walking, hiking and biking trails. It runs along Brodhead Creek and people are always fishing and cooling off in the water. Every time I've been there they've had portable toilets in the parking lot near the entrance to the park. They have a good sized off street parking area too. There is a convenience store a block down the road called M&S Country Store and they have great breakfast sandwiches. It's also a good place to grab a hoagie or drinks if your disc golfing or fishing etc... When we play disc golf tournaments here we call our order into M&S just before the end of our first round and they have it ready for us at the lunch break. I'm not sure how often they have someone there to enforce it but if you're not from Pennsylvania and you're not playing disc golf or fishing there is a $10 fee for adults to use the park.

Delaware Water Gap  On our adventure, we were on our way to Dingman's Ferry when we saw this back road.  We decided to take it and it went along by the river in the Gap.  20 miles of 15 miles an hour on a rural road.  We found treasure upon treasure for picture taking.  It was just us and nature.   Couldnt have asked for a more perfect ending to our day

Another adventurous activity , green forest hike with beautiful fall .which is in state of Pennsylvania on Pocono mountain Uplands. It is Bushkill Falls opened for public in 1904 .A stream from Rocky Mountain turns in to 100 ft deep scenic water fall. Though it is named as Niagara of Pennsylvania. but it is not so u can not compare it with a large gorgeous Niagara fall. But it has its own beauty. A small river turning in to a big water fall covered by green deep forest and rocky hill/mountain. Four trails developed for hike trail lovers-Green trail (easy one) yellow trail ( for family with children) blue & red trail some what longer , runs from 1 hour to 2.30 hours and in forest, mountains , ups & downs. Systematically made, developed and maintained considering safety of hikers/ viewers. If you are exhausted after a hike then outside trail you have snacks & ice creams, fudge and funnel cakes to satisfy hike of your stomach????. Clean Rest rooms r there and large place for parking. Really exotic place to visit.

Did a Sunday Labor Day weekend outing with our 2,4, and 6 year olds. PEEC is both literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air during these trying Covid times. Lots of different trails, from easy to more challenging. Staff at PEEC is very helpful at its visitor center to guiding you. There are maps for each trail, with information about the flora and fauna at each of the numbered stops on the trails. Picnic tables, parking, lots of taxidermy and fossils inside the center. We did the trail around the two ponds and saw canoers and kayakers; looked like equipment was provided gratis, with two attendants overseeing everything. Kids loved the trail and the various colored mushrooms as well as the uprooted large trees, and just being in the outdoors on a beautiful day.Not terribly crowded when we were there at around 2:30pm. Clean and safe with just about everyone very mask- conscious. Definitely worth a visit when in the Delaware Water Gap area- with kids or without. But the kids truly enjoyed this outing as much as we did.

Hickory Run State Park

I visited Hickory Run State Park with my dog to check out some trails, beautiful views and discover what nature had to offer here. It was a day well spent. A lot of walking and the trails weren't difficult at all, very manageable for dogs. Supportive shoes came in handy nonetheless. Access to Boulder Field, Sand Spring Lake, Hickory Run Chapel and Shades of Death Trail are easily accessible and within very reasonable distance of each other. There is a bathroom at the parking lot to Boulder Field but use it as last resort. I was pretty grossed out. Overall, absolutely gorgeous park. We saw many people fishing. There are plenty of spots to tuck away off of the paths to stop and catch your breath, take in the scenery or enjoy a picnic. Lake Harmony is only 13 minute drive away if interested.

Promised Land State Park

Reviewed By laluneestjolie - Philadelphia, United States

This is the cleanest, nicest campground I have ever stayed at. The cabin was clean and warm, and despite the at least 18 inches of snow, the walkway to the parking spot was shoveled when we got there. There are several electrical outlets and a heater. The bathrooms were warm, clean, and had automatic flushing toilets. The showers were hot, and even the floor was warm in there! I don’t usually stay in cabins, so I don’t have a lot of comparison, but I was impressed. It’s a good feeling to come inside when it’s 18 degrees outside and be warm and smell cedar. The only bad thing I could say is that the full-size mattress was saggy, but I know a cabin is not a hotel. If you don’t like spring mattresses bring a cot, a sleeping pad, or an inflatable mattress. To me, everything about staying in this cabin was luxury, because I am used to tent camping. It was really cool to come to Pickerell Point in February and see people ice fishing! We even waked across the lake to an island. I didn’t know you could do something like this in Pennsylvania. I want to come back in the summer with my tent.
