White Clay Creek State Park

We come here most often approaching from the Delaware side but we also use Pennsylvania as our base. Some trails here span more than one state. Each time we choose a different route and it is always interesting hike. The park is quite extensive and the nature here is lush and beautiful. This time we enjoyed again the Tri-State Trail and Mason Dixon Trails. Tri-state monument is a popular landmark. In Delaware there is a park fee one needs to pay. Out of state it is $8.

And that’s exactly what they did on this 300+ acre parcel of land that was once a working farm, every year they’ve added more attractions. This park has it all and keeps expanding. Walking and bike trails, wooded hiking trails, a man made hill, skate park designed by famed skateboarder Tony Hawk, kids playground, picnic pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, dog park, water features. And, oh yes, they old farm buildings have been preserved now and they have a farmers market on site every week in the summer. Plus tons of events throughout the year!

Newark Reservoir

Reviewed By iwrocki2020 - Wilmington, United States

Our first visit on an unseasonably warm sunny day in February. Almost every parking space was taken. Portable potties (2) available in excellent condition. Uphill distance was measured by a man with a measuring device - hence 800 meters - a winding wide path to the reservoir. From that elevation one can see the Delaware Memorial Bridge 14 miles away. Worth a visit.
