Hawaii in miniature in the Bronx! An excellent experience because the free tram ride round the gardens was an extra delight and the boutique and testaurant good too!

I have visited City Island pretty much bi-weekly...the atmosphere, its tranquility, as you are 'transported' to a community sorrounded by water, makes you feel as though you're in Cape Cod...in a boating & fishing community. In this fishing village, you must visit shops like "Captain Mike's Diving" you can learn scuba diving, book fishing excursions, and so much more. It has been at that location for over 27 years!...learning its history alone is mind boggling. ...and eateries like "The Lobster Box", Sammy's Fish Box", "Ohana Japanese Restaurant" are awesome. The church, the school, & businesses...its community is not harried like us on the other side of the City Island bridge...when you go, visit the little mom and pop businesses, where you can buy trinkets, your worms or tackle for fishing or wolf down dessert at the "Black Whale", and stop there, if only to gaze at a very old gnarled tree on its corner. A beautiful place!

The Bronx Zoo is so much fun! We went on a simulated dinosaur safari; saw a Komodo dragon; visited sea lions and gorillas in the Congo; went on monorail ride through the jungles of Asia. This zoo is absolutely a must-visit. It's only a 3.5 hour drive from north of Boston!

Stunning views and beautiful gardens! Me and my family have enjoy this gem for few years now it’s absolutely beautiful any time of the year even when snowing! Views are amazing and gardens are beautiful. Highly recommend family activities specially if you are visiting with kids. Small restaurant is pricey but food is good and many organic options. There is not parking space for know but shuttle vans take you quickly to a near by parking lot. Overall every visit has been great for us

I took the train here from Manhattan on a whim and very glad I did it. It took me less than an hour to get there and it was beautiful and peaceful. Nice park to walk around or go running or picnic in. Very easy to get to from the train.
